At the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa shared the following information: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the leading institution for research and training in Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam; initially implementing basic sciences such as Philosophy, History, Literature... and later developing more highly applicable fields such as Management Science, Tourism Studies, Social Work. The University currently has 24 undergraduate training programs, 41 master's programs and 31 doctoral programs, more than 10,000 students and more than 500 staff. Regarding international cooperation, the University has signed cooperation agreements with more than 300 foreign partners. The Vice President hopes that the University will soon implement cooperation with the Ocean University of China through activities such as student and lecturer exchanges, conducting joint research projects, and co-organizing international conferences.
Mr. Jin Tianwu (Head of the Department of Social Sciences Management) on behalf of the host country introduced the majors of social sciences and humanities at Ocean University of China. Currently, the University has seven member colleges and one center teaching basic courses in social sciences and humanities, along with four doctoral training programs: Law, Business Administration, Applied Economics, Foreign Languages and Literature. Social sciences and humanities students account for half of the 28,000 full-time students; the number of lecturers teaching social sciences and humanities is 1,680, accounting for one-third of the total. Among the 12 key research groups of Ocean University of China, five are in charge of social sciences and humanities majors: Capital Efficiency and Financial Risk Analysis, Economics of Law, Children's Literature, Interdisciplinary Research on Second Language Acquisition, and Classical Literature and Traditional Culture.
Prof. Li Huajun expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He said that although initially focusing only on marine research, since 1988, the Ocean University of China has started to open social sciences and humanities majors. Prof. Li Huajun proposed the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the two sides.

Ocean University of China was founded in 1924 and is one of the 36 Class A universities in the Plan for Building World-Class Universities of the Ministry of Education of China. The university has 28,000 full-time students, including 9,000 masters and 2,000 doctors. Its four campuses, Yushan, Laoshan, Fushan, and Huangdao (under construction), include 20 colleges and schools. The university has bilateral cooperation with more than 200 partners from 40 countries and regions, and is a member of international multilateral networks such as the International Alliance of Maritime Institutes (IAMRI) and the ASEAN Fisheries Education Network (ASEAN-FEN+).
