Welcoming the delegation from Kasetsart University (Thailand)

On September 5, 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with a delegation from Kasetsart University led by Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat (Acting Rector). Also present were representatives from the Faculty of International Studies, the Training Department, the Political and Student Affairs Department, and the Cooperation and Development Department.

During the meeting, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. As a leading research and training institution in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, the University currently offers 24 undergraduate programs, 41 master's programs, and 31 doctoral programs, with over 10,000 students and more than 500 staff members. Regarding international cooperation, the University has signed cooperation agreements with over 300 foreign partners, including several Thai partners such as Burapha University and Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. The Vice Rector expressed hope that the University would soon implement cooperation with Kasetsart University.

On behalf of Kasetsart University, Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He noted that the two sides share several similarities in their training and research programs. Kasetsart University has faculties such as the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities at the Bangkhen campus; the Faculty of Education and Liberal Arts at the Kamphaeng Saen campus; and the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Management Sciences at the Chalermphrakiat Sakhon Nakhon campus. He proposed that the two sides sign a formal cooperation agreement to serve as a basis for activities such as student and faculty exchanges; organizing joint scientific conferences; and conducting joint scientific research.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan highly appreciated the insights and suggestions of Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, and committed to promptly implementing the signing of the cooperation agreement. According to the Vice Rector, the progress of bilateral relations between Vietnam and Thailand is also a favorable condition for cooperation between the two universities.

Founded in 1943, Kasetsart University is the first agricultural university and one of the three oldest universities in Thailand. It has five campuses, including the main campus in Bangkok. The university offers programs in economics, business administration, engineering, social sciences, humanities, education, and architecture.
