The course took place from September 4th to January 31st, 2019, with the participation of Vietnamese and international students, including some from the United States, Spain, and Ireland. Participants listened to lectures on topics such as: Humanitarian leadership programs, international relations in humanitarian cooperation for disaster response – the ASEAN case study, anthropology and cultural aspects in humanitarian action… Afterwards, participants completed a three-month internship and wrote a final report. Lecturers for the course came from international non-governmental organizations such as World Vision Vietnam, Oxfam Vietnam, the Vietnam Red Cross, as well as the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) extended his warmest greetings to all students, especially the international students. The Rector stated that, as a member university of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the University is promoting an internationalization strategy, and therefore, accepting international students is a priority. The Rector hoped that the students would have a memorable time studying and researching here. Furthermore, the Rector invited them to attend the opening ceremony of the 2018-2019 academic year, organized by the University on September 27th.

Last year, on May 19, 2017, Professor Pham Quang, on behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, signed a cooperation agreement with representatives of the Network for Humanitarian Action (NOHA). Accordingly, the two sides agreed... They will establish a reciprocal relationship based on academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation. Areas of cooperation between NOHA and the University include student and faculty exchange, researcher exchange; providing courses on humanitarian action; and joint collaboration in publishing and research projects.
