Welcoming the delegation from Hallym University (South Korea)

On December 12, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), along with representatives from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, and the Office of Cooperation and Development, received and worked with a delegation from Hallym University (South Korea) led by Prof. Choi Young Jae (Vice Rector in charge of Training).

During the meeting, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasizing its goal of internationalization and expanding relations with foreign partners. The Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, is a reputable institution for Korean language training and Korean studies in Vietnam. The Vice Rector expressed optimism about the potential for cooperation with Hallym University in areas such as faculty and student exchange; conducting joint research projects; and organizing joint training programs.

In response, Professor Choi Young Jae highly appreciated the warm welcome from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He stated that Hallym University wishes to receive a faculty member from his university to study Korean and conduct research on Korea. Hallym University will also implement specific collaborations with the Faculty of Journalism and Communication of his university.

On behalf of the University, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan pledged to select a candidate suitable for Hallym University's proposal. The Vice-Rector also hoped that the two sides could expand cooperation to other fields of study such as Sociology, Social Work, and Political Science. The Cooperation and Development Office will be the main point of contact for the University.

Hallym University was founded in 1982 in Chungcheon, Gangwon Province, and receives direct funding from the Ministry of Education and Training for its exemplary research and teaching programs within the 21st Century Korean Intellectual Project. The constituent schools of Hallym University include the College of Humanities, College of Social Sciences, College of Business, College of Natural Sciences, College of Medicine, College of Electrical and Information Engineering, and the International School.
