Receiving delegation from Hallym University (Korea)

On December 12, 2017, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Journalism and Communication, and the Office of Cooperation and Development received and worked with a delegation from Hallym University (Korea) led by Professor Choi Young Jae (Vice Rector in charge of Training).

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasizing the goal of internationalization and expanding relations with foreign partners. The Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University is a prestigious Korean language training and Korean studies institution in Vietnam. The Vice President expressed optimism about the potential for cooperation with Hallym University in areas such as exchanging lecturers and students; conducting joint research projects; and organizing joint training programs.

In response, Professor Choi Young Jae appreciated the warm welcome of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He said that Hallym University wishes to receive a lecturer from the University to study Korean and research about Korea. Hallym University will also carry out specific cooperation with the University's Faculty of Journalism and Communication.

On behalf of the University, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan pledged to select suitable candidates according to Hallym University's proposal. The Vice President also hopes that the two sides can expand cooperation to other fields of study such as Sociology, Social Work, and Political Science. The Office of Cooperation and Development will be the main contact point of the University.

Hallym University was founded in 1982 in Chungcheon, Gangwon and is directly funded by the Ministry of Education and Training for its research and teaching programs in the 21st Century Korean Intelligence Project. The member schools of Hallym University are the School of Humanities, School of Social Sciences, School of Business, School of Natural Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Electrical and Information Engineering, and School of International Studies.
