Two faculty members received scholarships from the Korea Foundation.

On December 26, 2017, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, a scholarship awarding ceremony was held for two lecturers from the Korea Foundation whose research topics were related to Korea.

Two lecturers were honored with this scholarship: Ms. Nguyen Thuy Giang (Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies) and Mr. Dang Nhat Minh (Department of PR - Advertising, Faculty of Journalism and Communication). Ms. Nguyen Thuy Giang, author of the research paper "The Social Space of the Korean Community in Hanoi," expressed her joy at receiving the scholarship. Mr. Dang Nhat Minh, with his research paper "The Image of Korea in Vietnamese Journalism," shared: "Receiving this scholarship, I feel fortunate and grateful to my supervisor, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, and the Korea Foundation. This scholarship demonstrates the close cooperation between agencies and organizations of the two countries in efforts to enhance mutual understanding in general and scientific research in particular."

Mr. Park Kyoung Chul (Director of the Korea Foundation Hanoi Office) awarded scholarships to Ms. Nguyen Thuy Giang and Ms. Dang Nhat Minh.

During the meeting, Mr. Park Kyoung Chul (Director of the Korea Foundation Office in Hanoi) donated numerous research materials on Korea to the Department of Korean Studies. Dr. Luu Tuan Anh (Head of the Faculty of Oriental Studies), on behalf of all faculty members and students of the Faculty, expressed deep gratitude to the Korea Foundation, emphasizing that these are valuable resources supporting the learning and research process of students and faculty.

Dr. Luu Tuan Anh, Head of the Department of Oriental Studies, on behalf of the faculty and students, received research materials on Korea from the Korea Foundation.

The Korea Foundation for International Exchange was established in 1991 with the aim of raising awareness and understanding of Korea, and strengthening international trust and friendship towards the country and its people. The Foundation actively carries out various activities and programs supporting research on Korea worldwide, while also promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

In 2017, the Korea Foundation provided numerous scholarships and research grants, including: funding for Korean language research programs and activities, scholarships for Korean language training, scholarships for graduate students, postdoctoral research grants, and policy-oriented research programs.
