Receiving the delegation from Yunnan University (China)

On December 26, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), along with representatives from the Faculty of Linguistics, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Center for Chinese Studies, the Cooperation and Development Office, and the Training Office, received and worked with a delegation from Yunnan University (China) led by Mr. Li Wei (Director of the Institute of International Training).

During the meeting, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan briefly introduced the history of training and research at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, highlighting its position as a leading institution in Vietnam for social sciences and humanities education. The Vice Rector also emphasized the university's internationalization strategy, including strengthening international cooperation. Yunnan University is one of the university's important partners.

On behalf of Yunnan University, Mr. Li Wei expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the leadership of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. During the meeting, President Li Wei highly appreciated the potential for cooperation between the two leading universities of Vietnam and China. He proposed that both sides open more specialized training courses in Chinese; strengthen exchanges and cooperation in all training and research fields; and promote student and faculty exchanges. Under the 1+3 and 2+2 Vietnamese language joint training programs, Yunnan University also committed to supporting and awarding scholarships to Vietnamese students studying in China.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan agreed with Professor Li Wei's proposals and expressed his hope that the two universities would strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the future. The Vice Rector also affirmed that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always welcomes and provides the best learning conditions for Chinese students in particular and international students in general.

Yunnan University, founded in 1922, is located in the heart of Kunming City. It is the first comprehensive university in China and the largest national-level public university in Yunnan Province. It is also the only university from Yunnan and Guangxi provinces to be ranked among the top 42 key universities in China. Yunnan University comprises 11 colleges, offering a wide range of academic disciplines.
