Receive and work with the delegation of Yogyakarta State University (Indonesia)

On December 19, 2017, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Office of Cooperation and Development received and worked with a delegation from Yogyakarta State University (Indonesia) led by Dr. Rer. Nat. Senam (Vice Rector in charge of cooperation issues).

At the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation directions with the desire to promote comprehensive bilateral relations, specifically through activities such as student and lecturer exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and organizing seminars. Dr. Rer. Nat. Senam said that Yogyakarta State University is having a strategy to increase Vietnamese students studying and researching here. With the support of the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam, the Indonesian side will support tuition fees for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to go to Indonesia through programs such as the Developing Country Partnership Scholarship and the Darmasiswa RI Scholarship.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh expressed his gratitude and agreed with the proposals of Dr. Rer. Nat. Senam. The cooperation between the two sides is in line with the University's goal of internationalization and expanding relations with foreign partners. The University will promptly disseminate information to students about scholarship opportunities from your side. The Rector also proposed to sign an official memorandum of cooperation between the two sides through the main contact point, the Department of Cooperation and Development.

Yogyakarta State University was originally a teacher training college established in 1964. Currently, Yogyakarta State University has over 28,000 students. The university's seven faculties are Faculty of Education Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Languages ​​and Arts, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Sports Sciences, and Faculty of Economics. Yogyakarta State University has a cooperative relationship with the University of Foreign Languages, VNU.
