Receiving the delegation from the Institute of Marxism, Chongqing University (China)

During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh stated that the University is one of the leading institutions in Vietnam for teaching and researching theoretical subjects and political education. Under the direction and supervision of the Department of Political Theory (Central Propaganda Department) and the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), the University organized the 2018 summer political training course for lecturers in political theory and political education from universities, academies, and colleges from Ha Tinh province northward. The Rector hoped that the University could cooperate with the Academy of Marxism (Chongqing University) through practical activities such as organizing joint seminars and discussions; exchanging students, lecturers, and researchers; and conducting joint research projects.

On behalf of the other side, Professor Xiao Tieyan expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He stated that the Institute of Marxism (Chongqing University) wishes to send graduate students to the University for exchange and learning; and also hopes to welcome graduate students from the University to the Institute. Furthermore, the two sides could organize international conferences on areas of mutual interest. Based on the existing cooperation, he hoped that scholars from both sides could establish independent collaborative relationships.

Professor Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the proposals of Professor Tieu Thiet Nham. The Rector stated that the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the University has many experts with extensive knowledge and experience in Marxist-Leninist political theory as well as Ho Chi Minh Thought. Therefore, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will create the best possible conditions for professional exchange and learning activities between the two sides.

Chongqing University, founded in 1929, is a key comprehensive university under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education of China. Its main fields of study include natural sciences, industry, agriculture, social sciences, economics, management, law, medicine, and education.
