Meeting and working with representatives from Salisbury University (USA)

During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) introduced the main orientations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasizing the goal of internationalizing the University's teaching activities through expanding English-language courses and moving towards opening postgraduate training programs in English. As a leading training and research center in the Vietnamese higher education community, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has established cooperative relationships with US universities such as Princeton University, California State University, Fullerton, and California State University, Monterey Bay. The Rector expressed his desire to soon establish cooperation between the University and Salisbury University through activities such as faculty and student exchanges, organizing scientific conferences, and conducting joint research projects.

Mr. Frederik JG Schilingemann shared the aspirations of Professor Pham Quang Minh and stated that Salisbury University is ready to facilitate Vietnamese students to study in the United States. According to him, Salisbury University shares many similarities with Vietnam University in terms of its social sciences and humanities programs. He proposed establishing joint training programs between the two institutions, such as 2+2 or 3+1.

Professor Pham Quang Minh agreed with the proposals of Mr. Frederik JG Schilingemann and hoped that the two sides would soon sign a formal cooperation agreement in the future. The two sides will regularly share information with each other through the main point of contact, the Cooperation and Development Office of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Salisbury University is a public university founded in 1925 in Salisbury, Maryland. The university offers a total of 43 undergraduate programs, 15 graduate programs, and 2 doctoral programs.
