The 7th Executive Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities received the support of all 193 delegates present at the Congress.
At 8:00 a.m. (March 26, 2016), the 7th Congress of the Student Union - a big festival for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - officially opened its second session. Attending the congress were Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mr. Vu Van Hai - Chairman of the Student Union of VNU, and 193 delegates representing 16 faculties and 11 teams and groups in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The congress also had the participation of many key officials of the Student Association of the school through the periods such as: Comrade Huynh My Hanh - Member of the Secretariat of the Student Association of the school, term I, 2000-2002; Comrade Cao Thi Kim Ngan - President of the Student Association of the school, term III, 2004-2007 and many other comrades. Marking the first milestone in the 15-year history of the Student Association in terms of the large number of former association officials in the Executive Committee attending.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Mai Lan - former President of the Student Association, term VI, reported on the Summary of the Association's Work and the School's student movement for the 2013-2016 term.
The delegates listened to the report of the Student Union Executive Committee on the process of building and receiving comments for the Draft Political Report of the Congress; Review Report of the Student Union Executive Committee for the 2013-2016 term; Summary Report of the Student Union and Student Movement for the 2013-2016 term; Orientation of the Student Union and Student Movement for the 2016-2018 term. The Congress also unanimously approved the Project on building the Student Union Executive Committee for the 2016-2018 term.
With action slogan“Creative - Connecting - Reaching OutThe Congress identified the key goals of the new term as:Maintain and promote achievements and pioneering position in the movement of VNU Student Association and Hanoi City Student Association; continue to build and consolidate the organization, innovate working methods, improve the quality and efficiency of work, enhance the ability to gather, focus on developing skills for student members.

The orientation for the 2016-2018 term of the Congress addresses five major contents.
- First, promote propaganda and political and ideological education.
- Second, actively implement the movement "5 Good Students", and promote "Building a Humanistic Student Movement".
- Third, maintain and develop consulting activities and support students in their studies and lives.
- Fourth, further promote cultural, sports, social, and volunteer activities, joining hands for the community.
- Fifth, build the Association organization and develop the system of clubs, teams and groups.

After two working sessions, the delegates negotiated and approved the 7th Student Association Executive Committee (SAU) with 21 members. The new Executive Committee received 100% of the trust of the delegates present at the Congress.
The 6th Executive Committee awarded certificates of merit to individuals and organizations with positive contributions to the activities of the school's students such as: Vovinam Nhan Van Club, Rumbo Cheerleading Club and many other individuals and organizations.
