Receiving and working with the delegation of Showa Women's University (Japan)

On December 21, 2015, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with a delegation from Showa Women's University (Japan) led by Professor Yumi Kawahata (Faculty of International Studies, School of Humanities and Culture). Also receiving the delegation were representatives from the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Training Cooperation.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the history of training and research of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as a leading address for training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The University currently has 13,000 students of all levels, over 700 lecturers and civil servants and has international relations with over 200 universities worldwide. Among the University's partners, the President affirmed that Japan is always an important partner in the international cooperation development strategy.

Prof. Yumi Kawahata welcomed the University's welcome and proposed that the two schools soon sign a memorandum of cooperation between the two schools, aiming to carry out official cooperation activities. The main activities in the cooperation between the two sides will be student exchanges and organizing joint training programs. Specifically, each year, about 2-3 Vietnamese and Japanese students will be exchanged between the two schools. The Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language and the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will be the focal points for cooperation between the two sides. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh pledged to create the best conditions and support for Japanese students to study at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Showa Women's University is a private women's university founded in 1920 in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. Showa Women's University has two graduate schools, the School of Languages ​​and the School of Life Sciences, and five undergraduate schools, the School of Humanities and Culture, the School of International Studies, the School of Humanities and Humanities, the School of Environmental and Human Life Sciences, and the School of Global Business. The university also has other research centers and institutes such as the Institute of Modern Education, the Institute of Project Training, and the Institute of Women's Health Sciences.
