Is the cradle of movement creation

In the 2007-2008 school year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities pioneered the transition from year-based training to credit-based training. In the policy of VNU, this is a new step contributing to improving quality and moving towards international integration. However, this is a challenge and also an opportunity for the Student Union to adjust its organizational structure in a more systematic and appropriate way.

Up to now, the Association's activities and student movements have continued to be maintained under the conditions of credit training. The Student Association has also initiated many movements and activities for students to promote their creativity and pioneering spirit.

The Student Association has successfully organized activities to support students in their studies and scientific research such as: the seminar "New Student Luggage", the seminar "Learning Methods at University", the seminar "Student Scientific Research Methods", and awarded the "Green Torch" award to students with high achievements in scientific research with topics of youth, youth, students, Union, Association.

A series of large-scale events help students develop their full potential, linking the image of each member and student with the overall image of the school. Typical examples are “New Student Festival”, “Colors of Humanity” cultural exchange and camp, “Humanity Talent and Beauty – USSH Gralent” contest, “Spring of Love”, “Green Humanity” on-site volunteer activities, Green Summer campaign…

It is worth mentioning that the Association has promoted volunteer activities related to professional fields. Notable ones include “Warm clothes for children” of the Psychology Faculty; the Information and Library Faculty with the “Up” mobile library project; the Sociology Faculty with “Loving Tet”…

Humanistic Style

Realizing the movement "Building VNU student style", the movement "Building Humanistic student style" has been actively deployed by the Student Association and achieved remarkable results.

Specifically, the Student Union has come up with the idea and successfully launched a lanyard product with the color of Humanity. Implemented the sewing of uniforms for Union - Union officials and students of the whole school. From there, contributing to increasing the pride of being a student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, bringing a beautiful image of the school's students to the social community in internal and external activities.

The Student Union also coordinated with the Youth Union to organize the "Humanistic Ideas" contest and launched the official logo and slogan of the school's youth: Humanistic Youth - Reaching out like a lost bird.

The movement “Study with discipline, review well, take exams seriously” with funny, attractive and meaningful visual products. The movement has achieved its goal of propagating and encouraging students to seriously implement the regulations on studying and taking exams.

Talent and Beauty in Humanities – USSH Gralent is a successful event and left many impressions of the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Supporting the green shoots of Humanity

Not only contributing to the development of the movement, the Student Association also creates conditions for students to develop through the development of the Club/Team/Group system. In the last term VI, the Association officially established and put into operation 5 Clubs: Garnet Reception - Event Club, Humanistic Vovinam Club, Humanistic Blood Donation Youth Team, SEG Event Organizing Student Club, Men's Football Club. Bringing the total number of Clubs/Teams/Groups under the Student Association to 11.

In particular, the Student Association always attaches importance to developing volunteer activities related to expertise. Specifically, the Association always encourages Club/Team/Group models of the Faculty Inter-branch units. Typical examples are the English Club (LCH Faculty of International Studies), Calligraphy Club and Cinema Club (LCH Faculty of Literature), Youth Tourism Club (LCH Faculty of Tourism Studies)...

Let the lost bird fly far
Speaking at the recent 7th Student Union Congress, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, expressed his concerns about the role of the Student Union in the integration and development process: “Over the past 15 years, the Student Union has demonstrated its great role in all activities. We must not be subjective with the results we have achieved, but must always look back at ourselves, overcome the existing limitations, especially the integration trend, which the Student Union has not yet clearly demonstrated. It is time for us not to be indifferent or avoid it, but to face it, and propose directions and solutions for strong and timely development.”

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh emphasized that in the upcoming 7th term, the Student Association needs more ideas to help students of Humanities become more integrated in the future. In order for the "lost bird" of Humanities to both preserve tradition and look towards the future, going beyond its limits to integrate with the world, the role of the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is very important.
