Attending the appreciation ceremony along with the school's youth:
On the family side of the fallen soldier, there were: Mrs. Doan Ngoc Tram – mother of Heroic Martyr, Doctor Dang Thuy Tram; and Mr. Nguyen Van Thuc – older brother of Heroic Martyr Nguyen Van Thac.

Distinguished guests and over 150 student union members representing the youth of the university offered incense and laid wreaths in respectful commemoration of the heroic martyrs at the memorial and at over 2000 martyrs' graves in the cemetery.

Representing the University and its youth, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh expressed gratitude for the sacrifices of the heroic martyrs and emphasized: “We must cherish what we have – the independence, freedom, and territorial integrity of our Fatherland. Because to achieve these precious things, generations of our predecessors – including martyrs Dang Thuy Tram and Nguyen Van Thac – dedicated their youth to the independence and freedom of our Fatherland. We have a responsibility to protect that independence to continue the tradition of previous generations. To continue that tradition, young people should study and train well, and use all their abilities to serve the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.” This also serves as a reminder to the students and members of the University to strive harder in their studies, research, and self-improvement so that they can serve and build the country.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Despite the drizzling rain throughout the event, the members of the Youth Union and students of the Faculty of Humanities did not shy away from the difficulties in cleaning all the martyrs' graves and the cemetery grounds.
Like other youth union members, Kim Anh shared: "I find this program very meaningful because it's an opportunity for the younger generation to express their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs, and to remind us to always remember the contributions of previous generations who sacrificed their youth for the country and the nation."

Comrade Phuong Thuy, a member of the program's organizing committee, shared: "The most important reason that motivated us to carry out this program is the desire to help young people understand the significance of showing gratitude and repaying the kindness of previous generations. If we forget this, we are greatly at fault, not only towards those who have passed away but also towards the nation and the country. This activity is also an opportunity for young people to directly visit those who have become the pride of Vietnamese youth, such as Nguyen Van Thac and Dang Thuy Tram,..."
The "Passing on the March Flame" program of the youth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has received high praise and recognition from the relatives and families of martyrs, as well as from various departments, organizations, and individuals. This is a very practical and meaningful activity of the university's youth to celebrate Youth Month 2016.
