A friendly but very frank discussion on the issue of young staff members and scientific research, organized by the university's Youth Union, took place in the auditorium on the 5th floor of building H on the morning of May 12, 2011.Ten presentations at the seminar focused on the scientific research of young faculty members at the university. The issues discussed were specific and relevant to each young faculty member, especially the young lecturers. Topics discussed enthusiastically included: the current state of scientific research among young faculty members, its causes and solutions, the role of the Youth Union in their research, recommendations to the university to promote scientific research among young faculty members, research methods, ways to find research materials, and experiences in participating in international conferences… In his concluding remarks at the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu – Vice Rector – shared his sincere and heartfelt thoughts with the young faculty members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. According to Assoc. Prof. Vu Duc Nghieu, the path of science is a glorious one, but also one fraught with difficulties. To embark on that path, each young researcher needs a love for science to create passion and dedication in their research. To become a true scientist, one needs perseverance, patience, and sometimes even failure. The seminar was highly praised by many young researchers for its friendly yet frank and insightful discussions, and they believe similar activities should be held more frequently to improve the quality of scientific research among young researchers.
