On May 18, 2011, commemorating the 43rd anniversary of the sacrifice of martyr Le Anh Xuan (May 24, 1968 – May 24, 2011), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a seminar titled "The Stance of Vietnam" - in remembrance of the teacher, poet, and martyr Le Anh Xuan.

On May 18, 2011, commemorating the 43rd anniversary of the sacrifice of martyr Le Anh Xuan (May 24, 1968 – May 24, 2011), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a seminar titled "The Stance of Vietnam" - in remembrance of the teacher, poet, and martyr Le Anh Xuan.The seminar was attended by professors and scientists who contributed to the training of young teacher and historian Ca Lê Hiến; teachers, colleagues, and comrades of Lê Anh Xuân in the classroom and on the battlefields; lecturers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities… Notably, the sister of martyr Lê Anh Xuân - teacher, director, Meritorious Artist Ca Lê Hồng, former Principal of the School of Performing Arts, and Deputy Secretary General of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Performing Arts - traveled thousands of kilometers to attend.

In his opening remarks at the seminar, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, the Rector of the University, emphasized: More than forty years have passed since the teacher and poet Le Anh Xuan - Ca Le Hien fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The country's history has also experienced many ups and downs on its path forward. But throughout those more than 40 years, the example of fighting and sacrificing, along with the poetic career of martyr Le Anh Xuan, lives on. Le Anh Xuan is still accompanying us in the struggle to defend the country and build the national culture. Today, we gather here, in the grounds of the former Hanoi University, where the lecture halls bear the footprints of the young teacher Ca Le Hien of yesteryear, to remember and pay tribute to a heroic poet and teacher. In an atmosphere of remembrance and gratitude to the martyr, the teachers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities wished to share, discuss, and supplement information about the martyred teacher and poet Le Anh Xuan through: his working life, studies, and qualities as a young teacher before returning to his homeland to fight; his fighting spirit, self-sacrifice, dedication, and creative enthusiasm as a soldier-poet; and the ideological and artistic value of Le Anh Xuan's poetry in modern Vietnamese revolutionary poetry. The presentations and opinions at the seminar focused on highlighting Le Anh Xuan's life, his studies, teaching, and literary creations, and his fighting spirit for the Fatherland… Writer Tu Son, poet Ngo The Oanh… expressed their moving emotions through stories and memories of living, studying, and fighting alongside Le Anh Xuan. Decades have passed, but those memories remain vivid, fresh, and intact. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hong, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Thanh Hung, Colonel - writer Ngo Vinh Binh… have conducted in-depth research on Le Anh Xuan's poetry, his creative process, inspiration, poetic art, epic qualities, lyrical elements and subtlety, and the position of Le Anh Xuan's poetry in revolutionary poetry and Vietnamese poetry during the resistance war against the US…

The sister of martyr Le Anh Xuan, teacher and director Meritorious Artist Ca Le Hong, expressed her pride and emotion upon returning to the school where Le Anh Xuan had spent many years. Meritorious Artist Ca Le Hong also shared memories and stories about Le Anh Xuan from his childhood to adulthood and his participation in the resistance war. She also mentioned that she still keeps many mementos of the martyr Le Anh Xuan, such as letters written to family members and diaries. Teacher, poet, and martyr Le Anh Xuan, whose birth name was Ca Le Hien, was born in Ben Tre town into a patriotic intellectual family. In 1954, at the age of 14, Ca Le Hien moved to the North with his family. After finishing high school, Ca Le Hien studied at the Faculty of History, Hanoi University, class III, 1959-1962. After graduating with excellent results, Ca Le Hien was retained by the university as a lecturer. At the end of 1964, Mr. Ca Le Hien put aside his unfinished textbooks and volunteered to go fight the enemy. Returning to the beloved battlefields of Southern Vietnam, Mr. Ca Le Hien worked in the education subcommittee, and later transferred to the Liberation Arts and Literature Association. Le Anh Xuan sacrificed his life on May 24, 1968, during the second phase of the Tet Offensive in Phuoc Quang hamlet, Phuoc Loc commune, Can Duoc district, Long An province. In recognition of Le Anh Xuan's great contributions, the Party and State posthumously awarded him the First Class Liberation Medal, the Certificate of National Recognition, and the State Prize for Literature and Arts.
