Final round of the 1st Student Support Skills Competition
The "Creativity" round - the final of the first Academic Advisor Professional Skills Competition - took place last night, May 18th.In a theatrical format, the four teams from History, Philosophy, Management Science, and Literature participated in the final round of the competition, each going through three parts: "Introduction to the training program and the work of the student advisor" – "Oratory on the work of a student advisor" – "Handling situations in the work of a student advisor". In the "Introduction to the training program and the work of the student advisor" section, the teams presented impressive, engaging, humorous, and cheerful performances through real-life situations. Particularly noteworthy in this section was the students' creative collaboration with the student advisors, vividly showcasing their unit's performance.

In the "Oratory" section, the participating units will draw lots to choose a topic, and each unit's representative will have a maximum of 5 minutes to deliver a speech on that topic. Next, in the "Situation Handling" section, teams will watch situational video clips for 3 minutes and have 2 minutes to present their unit's solution. Finally, each team must answer two questions from the judging panel.

Concluding three exciting, engaging, and creative rounds of competition, the final results of the First Academic Advisor Professional Skills Competition showed that the Faculty of Management Science won first prize with a total score of 82.09 across all three rounds; the Faculty of Literature won the special prize with 84.94; the Faculty of Philosophy won second prize; and the Faculty of History won third prize. In addition, based on the scores from Round 1 (Part-time), the final round's performance by the academic advisors, and the nominations from the faculties, the title of Outstanding Academic Advisor of the First Academic Advisor Professional Skills Competition was awarded to Ms. Hoang Cam Giang, M.Sc. – Academic Advisor of the Faculty of Literature. Furthermore, the final round of the competition also summarized and awarded prizes to the students who won the "Asking Questions and Presenting Scenarios for Academic Advisors" competition on the website ussh.vnu.edu.vn. In his concluding remarks at the competition, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son – Vice Rector of the University – affirmed: The first Academic Advisor Professional Skills Competition at the University is the first of its kind in the country. The competition is an opportunity to recognize exemplary academic advisors and contribute to developing solutions for innovating the university's academic advisor work model. This is also an important activity in the solutions to promote in-depth credit-based training. More importantly, through this competition, academic advisors from all units in the university have had the opportunity to share difficulties and shortcomings, discuss together, and propose solutions to better fulfill their roles and responsibilities in current credit-based training.
