Being the first unit in our country's university education system assigned to train political science at three levels: bachelor (2008), master and doctorate (2005), that has posed great challenges to the process of building political science.
During the first 5 years of its term, the faculty-level operating model has achieved specific achievements: Regarding staff, up to now, the faculty has 23 staff, including 2 professors, 2 associate professors and 8 PhDs. 5 faculty staff are studying for doctoral degrees.
Regarding training activities, from 2005 to 2015, the faculty has trained more than 400 undergraduate students, nearly 300 graduate students and 46 doctors. Many short-term courses to train lecturers on Ho Chi Minh's ideology and courses on the rule of law have been opened. Faculty staff are responsible for over 80% of undergraduate teaching content and nearly 50% of postgraduate teaching content. During the training process, the faculty also invited many domestic and foreign experts and political scientists to participate in training cooperation.
The faculty’s scientific research activities have made progress in both quantity and quality. The faculty has presided over 13 state-level projects, 3 VNU-Hanoi-level projects, 5 grassroots-level projects, published 23 monographs and textbooks, and published 150 articles in journals and scientific conference proceedings.
In the development orientation for the period 2016-2021, the faculty recognizes that the results achieved in the past period are the initial foundation in the development process of the Faculty of Political Science. In the next period, on the one hand, the faculty must ensure to maintain and promote the basic results achieved while gradually adjusting training, research and staff building activities to meet the new situation.
The Department continues the doctoral program in chemistry and gradually implements the chemistry specialization program.
Concretize the School's policy of building a research university into a program to build a research-oriented faculty.
Adjust the training model, taking applied political science training as the key training direction.
Expand cooperation in the direction of research and training cooperation and further improve the administration of the faculty.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Principal of the School, gave a congratulatory speech to the faculty.
Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Principal of the School, congratulated the results that the faculty has achieved in the recent past. In the future, the development of the faculty will continue to be brighter, because not only in Vietnam but also internationally, there is a great interest in Vietnam's political issues.
"To exploit the existing foundation, seize development opportunities, and compete with other research and training units, the faculty needs to focus on its identity values. In addition, it is necessary to promote healthy competition and share with partners to spread the unit's influence outside," said Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh.

Established in 2011, but with a history of nearly 30 years of building the foundation from the Marxist-Leninist Theory Training Center, gradually over the years it has sown seeds, sprouted and now become an independent faculty unit. The faculty has had a hot foundation for initial construction and development. The next journey will have many difficulties and hardships that the faculty must unite to overcome.
"University education is a special type of service, strongly affected by the laws of supply and demand and competition. The same goes for political science. In order to develop, the Faculty of Political Science needs to have accurate forecasts of demand and create needs for development," shared Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu.
Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu, Head of the Department of Political Science, spoke at the program.
In order to be able to train politics in the context of deep integration as today, the faculty's education will promote the integration factor, delve into research in a number of fields, correctly reflect the development laws of politics, and catch up with the movement trends of the world and the country.
Faced with the competitive pressure of educational integration from developed countries such as the US, Japan, France... the Faculty of Political Science will continue to unite, promote the spirit of creative and effective work to enhance the unit's competitive strength, contributing to the continued strong development of the faculty and the school.
