Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, delivered a congratulatory speech to the new students of the Faculty who had successfully passed the aptitude test to become members of the Faculty's community. Among the 154 new students, 5 were admitted directly, and 20 are students from prestigious specialized high schools nationwide. Vu Quynh Trang, the valedictorian of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, is also the valedictorian of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

From its early days, the Faculty has been home to a dedicated and enthusiastic team of lecturers, many of whom are prominent and reputable scientists and leading experts in journalism and communication. The majority of the Faculty's lecturers received formal training in the UK, Australia, South Korea, and the Soviet Union. In addition, the Faculty has over 50 adjunct lecturers who are experienced journalists and communication experts.
Studying in Vietnam's leading training and research environment for social sciences and humanities, students of the Faculty will have access to and receive the most fundamental and in-depth knowledge in various fields from leading professors in the social sciences and humanities. This is a strength of the school that no other journalism and media training institution possesses. Further supporting and empowering the students are 25 generations of alumni from the Faculty, currently working throughout the country and holding important positions in media organizations.
With all these foundations, new students have broad opportunities and a bright future to follow in the footsteps of previous generations, contributing to the development of the Faculty and the University, and to the development of the national journalism industry.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, attended and shared his joy with the faculty and students of the Journalism and Communication Department. He urged the young people to strive for self-improvement and study hard to integrate with the world in the current trend of globalization. Vietnam has joined the ASEAN Community and participated in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement. Your labor market is also the Southeast Asian market with over 600 million people. This is both an opportunity and a challenge as Vietnamese students must compete with students from many other universities in the region. "Cherish the past, seize the future" – that is the message the Rector conveyed to the Journalism and Communication students at the opening ceremony.
