On September 24, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its first Doosan (South Korea) scholarship award ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Kong Yong Kwon (Deputy General Director) and Mr. Kim Hoon (Human Resources Director) of Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Gia Lam (Vice Rector) along with representatives from the Student Affairs and International Relations Departments.
This is the first time Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd. has awarded scholarships to students of the University. The scholarship recipients are students majoring in Korean Studies - Faculty of Oriental Studies who achieved excellent academic results in the 2008-2009 academic year. Each scholarship is worth 250 USD. At the scholarship awarding ceremony, Mr. Kong Yong Kwon expressed the company's desire to support and encourage the university's students in their studies, especially those majoring in Korean Studies, who will later directly contribute their abilities to Korean companies and businesses operating in Vietnam.

Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd. is a member of the Doosan Group (Korea), headquartered in Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai Province. The company's products include seawater desalination equipment, chemical treatment equipment, and manual control equipment.
