University of Social Sciences and Humanities receives delegations from Korea

On the morning of October 23, 2009, a delegation from Dankook University led by Professor W. Jaewoo Shim - Head of the Department of International Relations - visited and worked at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

This is the first meeting between the two sides to learn about each other, as a basis for long-term cooperation plans in the future.

During the meeting, Prof. Jaewoo Shim introduced the operation of Dankook University, emphasizing the training program for foreign students at Dankook. He also said that in the future, Dankook intends to establish an International University to train foreign students with high-quality curriculum taught in English. The priority training majors at this university are Economics, Asian Studies, Information Technology, Biology, etc. Dangkook University welcomes the participation of Vietnamese students and trainees.

On behalf of the University, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Gia Lam - Vice Rector - said that there would be many advantages if the two sides established a cooperative relationship, especially when the training and research fields between the two sides have many similarities. On the other hand, like Dankook, internationalizing training programs and aiming to meet international standards is also an important strategy of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the coming time.

Since 1947, Dankook University is the first full-time private university established in Korea. Dankook has 20 member universities with 88 faculties, including 64 master's faculties and 55 doctoral faculties. The university has 722 teachers, 20,336 undergraduate students, and 3,590 postgraduate students studying and researching. Member universities include: University of Literature, University of Law, University of Social Sciences, University of Commerce - Business, University of Natural Sciences, University of Architecture, University of Engineering, University of Education, University of Music, University of Fine Arts, University of Law, University of Arts, University of Sports, University of Medicine, University of Life Resources Sciences...

In the afternoon of the same day, a delegation from Hallym University (Korea) led by Dr. Jak Kyu Chun - Head of the International Relations Department - also visited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and had some specific discussions on the bilateral cooperation situation in recent times. Hallym University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have established an official cooperative relationship since March 2009.
