On the morning of October 23, 2009, a delegation from Dankook University, led by Professor W. Jaewoo Shim - Head of the International Relations Department - visited and worked at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
This was the first meeting between the two sides to learn about each other, laying the groundwork for long-term cooperation plans in the future.
During the meeting, Professor Jaewoo Shim introduced the activities of Dankook University, emphasizing its programs for international students. He also stated that in the future, Dankook intends to establish an International University to educate international students with high-quality programs taught in English. Priority fields of study at this university include Economics, Asian Studies, Information Technology, Biology, etc. Dankook University warmly welcomes the participation of Vietnamese students and trainees.

On behalf of the University, Associate Professor Pham Gia Lam - Vice Rector - stated that there would be many advantages if the two sides established a cooperative relationship, especially since the training and research fields between the two sides have many similarities. Furthermore, similar to Dankook, internationalizing training programs and aiming for international standards is also an important strategy for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the future.
Since 1947, Dankook University has been the first private full-time university established in South Korea. Dankook comprises 20 colleges with 88 departments, including 64 master's degree programs and 55 doctoral degree programs. The university has 722 faculty members, 20,336 undergraduate students, and 3,590 graduate students currently studying and conducting research. The member colleges include: College of Arts, College of Law, College of Social Sciences, College of Commerce and Business, College of Natural Sciences, College of Architecture, College of Engineering, College of Education, College of Music, College of Fine Arts, College of Law, College of Arts, College of Sports, College of Medicine, College of Life Sciences, etc.
Later that afternoon, a delegation from Hallym University (South Korea), led by Dr. Jak Kyu Chun - Head of the International Relations Department - also visited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and had some specific discussions about the cooperation between the two sides in the past period. Hallym University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities officially established a cooperation relationship in March 2009.
