On the morning of May 26, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a ceremony to award 121 scholarships to ethnic minority students in mountainous areas for the 2010-2011 school year. The program was implemented by the Center for Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Area Development Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) in coordination with sponsoring agencies, organizations and businesses.121 scholarships, each worth 1,000,000 VND, were awarded to 121 ethnic minority students studying at the faculties of the University. Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son - Vice Principal of the University thanked the agencies and businesses for their interest and joining hands with the University to contribute to the development of the ethnic minority community in the mountainous area. The Center for Research on Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Area Development was established in 2006. The Center is focusing on gradually building the “Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Area Education Development Fund” to help teachers, students, and schools in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, contributing to further promoting the education cause in this territory of Vietnam.
