On May 25, 2011, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training held a ceremony to announce the appointment of the Faculty's leadership board and the Center's management board for the 2011-2016 term.The Faculty of Journalism and Communication Management Board for the 2011-2016 term consisted of: Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen and MSc. Nguyen Son Minh - Vice Deans of the Faculty. The leadership board of the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training for the 2011-2016 term consisted of: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Huong - Director of the Center, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Director of the Center.

Attending the ceremony and presenting the appointment decisions, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University – congratulated and expressed his confidence that the new Dean's Board of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, with their youth, creativity, dynamism, and enthusiasm, will continue to build upon the achievements of previous terms, leading the Faculty of Journalism and Communication to new advancements and contributing to enhancing the University's prestige and reputation. In addition, the Rector emphasized several key tasks that the new Dean's Board needs to focus on: - Reviewing the structure of training programs and promptly developing new specializations such as Public Relations alongside Print Journalism and Television. - The Faculty of Journalism and Communication, in collaboration with the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training, should effectively coordinate training tasks and produce programs that meet societal needs. - The Faculty of Journalism and Communication should mobilize support from individuals, agencies, and organizations to further strengthen and develop the Faculty's position.

On behalf of the new Dean's Board of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong thanked the Party Committee and the School's Board of Directors, and expressed gratitude to the previous Dean's Board and generations of lecturers of the Faculty. The Dean's Board for the 2011-2016 term also set out specific directions and goals such as: developing the Public Relations and Communication Management major; creating dual degrees in Journalism - Language, Journalism - Political Science, or a supplementary degree in Journalism - Foreign Language to create job opportunities for students; promoting scientific research, developing research topics and projects...; dividing specializations into interconnected programs so that students can make the most of the equipment to practice their professional skills, and can accumulate credits in two specializations within 4.5-5 years of study...

As one of the four major journalism and media training and research institutions in the country, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, after more than 20 years of establishment, has been providing thousands of reporters, editors, public relations staff, advertising professionals, event organizers, etc., with bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees to mass media agencies and political, economic, cultural, and social organizations.
