Signing of cooperation document with Guangxi University (China)

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh welcomed the delegation of Guangxi University and emphasized: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Guangxi University have had a cooperative relationship for 7 years since the two sides signed a cooperation agreement in 2007. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities pays special attention to and promotes international cooperation activities in the fields of training and research. In particular, the University pays great attention and wishes to further expand cooperative relations with Chinese universities such as Guangxi University. Currently, the University has training units on China such as the Department of Chinese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Center for Chinese Studies.

Mr. Duong Binh Thu was very pleased to be welcomed by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and said that this visit of Guangxi University aimed to re-sign the memorandum of understanding in 2007, promote cooperation between the two sides and discuss the possibility of establishing a Confucius Institute at the University in the near future. He said that the two sides have great potential for cooperation for three reasons: first, the geographical distance between Nanning and Vietnam is close, convenient for mutual visits; second, Guangxi University has many institutes teaching and researching social sciences and humanities; third, Nanning regularly holds ASEAN exhibitions, creating conditions for people here to better understand ASEAN countries, including Vietnam.

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh welcomed the sharing and suggestions of Mr. Duong Binh Thu and said that the two sides had had many cooperations in the past, but had not yet fully utilized the above advantages. The Associate Professor Dr. proposed to further promote cooperation in the coming time, especially organizing a workshop with the participation of Professors of Guangxi University in early 2016.

Guangxi University was founded in 1928, is a comprehensive university, with many different training majors. The university currently has 20 departments under the Department of Education, 1 physical education research area. In addition, the university also has 15 autonomous region design research subjects, 1 university of science and technology, 1 modernized agricultural research base, 48 scientific research centers, 67 provincial and school-level management laboratories.
