The Northern Vietnam Student Vovinam Championship has been held since 2014, but this is the first time the Humanities Vovinam Club has participated, and also the first time the Hanoi National University system has had athletes competing.
In this tournament, the Nhan Van Vovinam Club has 20 athletes participating, the largest number compared to previous tournaments. The club registered for a wide variety of events, including demonstrations (basic forms, women's solo performances, men's solo performances, unarmed and weapon group performances, women's self-defense, women's team forms) and sparring in various weight classes. Vovinam at the Faculty of Humanities participated in the 5th National Student Sports Games in 2015, achieving 6th place overall.
Vovinam Nhan Van is the first martial arts club for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, established on April 16, 2014, formerly known as the Vovinam Journalism Club of Nhan Van. In November 2014, the club officially became a university-level club and is under the direct supervision of the Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Although only active for three years, the club has participated in many major tournaments with high achievements and has been very active in promoting the image of the University. In its first year, the club represented Vietnam National University, Hanoi at the 5th National Student Sports Games in 2015 at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports, organized by the Vietnam University and Professional Sports Association and the Vietnam Vovinam Federation. Despite being only one year old and having no tournament experience, through continuous effort, the club achieved 6th place overall with 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.

Vovinam Nhan Van participated in the 2016 Hanoi Open Vovinam tournament and won 12 sets of medals.
A distinctive feature of the club is the relatively large number of female students. However, the Vovinam girls have not been outdone, competing wholeheartedly and enriching the club's medal tally. In the Hanoi Open Vovinam Tournament in June 2016 alone, the club won 12 sets of medals, including 2 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze.

The club's performance won first prize at the festival held on May 21, 2017, to commemorate the founder of Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao, Nguyen Loc.
From June 2nd to June 4th, 2017, the Humanities Vovinam Club will once again represent the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) in the 2017 Northern Vietnam Student Vovinam Championship organized by FPT University Hanoi. After three years of training and three months of focused preparation for the tournament, the club members are practicing diligently, not only on the main training grounds but also practicing together daily at various other locations. They are determined to win more medals in all competition categories to further enrich the achievements of the Humanities Vovinam Club.

The members of the Vovinam Humanities team are actively training and highly determined to win many medals at the Northern Student Vovinam Tournament in early June 2017.

The club's two coaches are Quang Hoa and Hong Thuy - the Golden Couple of Vietnamese Vovinam. Notably, Hong Thuy is also a graduate in Journalism from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
In addition to training time, club members actively participate in various extracurricular activities. Joining Vovinam at the Faculty of Humanities means participating in exciting group excursions, impressive performances in school activities, and lively exchanges with student groups from other schools…

The club's trip to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum coincided with President Ho Chi Minh's birthday month.
