Attending the opening ceremony, on behalf of the units under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, were leaders of the Institute of Educational Quality Assurance, the Center for Physical Education and Information Technology, the Department of Knowledge Services in Natural Sciences and Social Sciences, the Center for Library and Digital Knowledge, the Vietnam National University Hospital, the Me Tri Dormitory Management Board, and the Vietnam National University Student Support Center.
On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Rector) and heads of functional departments, faculties, affiliated departments, and leaders of mass organizations attending directly at the hall.
On the side of the External Evaluation Team of the Center for Education Quality Assessment, Ho Chi Minh City National University, there were 6 official members and 1 secretary led by Prof. Dr. Dang Ung Van as Head of the Team attending directly at the Hall. In addition, there were also representatives of the Center for Education Quality Assessment, Ho Chi Minh City National University attending online via Zoom.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and all staff, lecturers and students, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his gratitude to the External Evaluation Team of the Center for Educational Accreditation, VNU-HCM for accompanying the school throughout the evaluation process. The school pays great attention to quality assessment activities, considering them as one of the key solutions to innovate and improve the quality of training programs and educational facilities. Through the results of the evaluation activities, the school also looks back at the results and achievements that have been achieved, further promoting the strengths, but more importantly, seeing the shortcomings, and proposing solutions to further improve the training quality of the school. During the 5 days that the Evaluation Team conducted an official survey at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the entire Board of Directors, staff, lecturers and students of the school will prepare carefully so that the Evaluation Team's activities can be carried out smoothly, objectively and effectively.
MSc. Ho Dac Hai Mien (Deputy Director of the Center for Education Quality Assurance of VNU-HCM) highly appreciated the results of the first assessment cycle of the school: in 2016, the school was one of the first higher education institutions to conduct quality accreditation, receiving the highest certification in the country. This year, the school continues to conduct the second assessment cycle, with higher criteria and requirements than the previous cycle. The Center for Education Quality Assurance of VNU-HCM is honored to be the unit accompanying the school in this assessment cycle. In the official survey in the next 5 days, we hope that the school will create favorable conditions for the External Assessment Team to carry out their work smoothly, giving the most objective, impartial and accurate comments.
Also at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong briefly introduced the history of the school's formation and development and the process of building the school's 5-year self-assessment report 2017-2021. The self-assessment report pointed out that: besides the strengths and achievements on the school's 3 pillars: training, scientific research and community service, there are still some shortcomings. On that basis, the school identified a number of key solutions to improve the quality of educational institution accreditation: raising awareness of building and developing a culture of quality, accreditation culture; forming a strong internal quality assurance system; seriously investing in post-inspection work; promoting communication about accreditation work;... After this assessment, the school will absorb and carefully study the comments of the Assessment Team to continue to improve and develop further in the coming time.
Representatives of the affiliated units attending the opening ceremony also agreed to arrange and organize work to effectively coordinate with the External Evaluation Team for a successful survey.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the External Evaluation Team attended a number of classrooms, visited and interviewed staff from the departments of the Principal's Office, some Faculties and Centers under the school. The official survey of the External Evaluation Team will end on the afternoon of April 24, 2022.
