Opening ceremony of the official survey by the External Evaluation Team at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Attending the opening ceremony, on behalf of the units under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, were leaders from the Institute for Quality Assurance in Education, the Center for Physical Education and Training, the Department of Natural Sciences and Social Sciences Knowledge Services, the Center for Library and Digital Knowledge, the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Hospital, the Me Tri Dormitory Management Board, and the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Student Support Center.

Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Rector), and heads of functional departments, faculties, and affiliated units, as well as leaders of student organizations, who attended directly in the auditorium.

The external evaluation team from the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, consisted of 6 official members and 1 secretary, led by Professor Dr. Dang Ung Van, who participated directly in the meeting hall. In addition, representatives from the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, also participated online via Zoom.

Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, on behalf of the leadership and all staff, lecturers, and students, expressed gratitude to the External Evaluation Team from the Center for Educational Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, for their support throughout the evaluation process. The university places great importance on quality accreditation, considering it a key solution for innovation and improvement in the quality of its training programs and educational facilities. Through the evaluation results, the university has also gained a comprehensive overview of its achievements, further developing its strengths, but more importantly, identifying existing shortcomings and proposing solutions to further enhance the quality of its education. During the five days of the Evaluation Team's official survey at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the entire Board of Directors, staff, lecturers, and students will make thorough preparations to ensure the Evaluation Team's activities are conducted smoothly, objectively, and effectively.

Ms. Ho Dac Hai Mien (Deputy Director of the Center for Quality Assurance in Education, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) highly praised the results of the university's first accreditation cycle: in 2016, the university was one of the first higher education institutions to undergo quality accreditation, achieving the highest certification results nationwide. This year, the university is continuing with the second accreditation cycle, with higher criteria and requirements compared to the previous cycle. The Center for Quality Assurance in Education, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, is honored to once again be a partner with the university in this evaluation cycle. During the official 5-day survey, we hope the university will facilitate the External Evaluation Team's work, enabling them to provide the most objective, fair, and accurate feedback.

Also at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong briefly introduced the history of the school's formation and development and the process of building the school's 5-year self-assessment report (2017-2021). The self-assessment report pointed out that, in addition to the strengths and achievements in the school's three pillars: training, scientific research, and community service, there are still some shortcomings. Based on that, the school has identified several key solutions to improve the quality of educational institution accreditation: raising awareness about building and developing a culture of quality and accreditation culture; forming a strong internal quality assurance system; investing seriously in post-assessment work; promoting communication about accreditation work;… Following this evaluation, the school will carefully consider and study the feedback from the Evaluation Team to further improve and develop in the future.

Representatives from the affiliated units attending the opening ceremony also agreed to arrange and organize their work to effectively coordinate with the External Evaluation Team so that the survey could be successfully completed.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the External Evaluation Team observed classes in several classrooms, toured the campus, and interviewed staff from the administrative departments, some faculties, and centers affiliated with the university. The official survey by the External Evaluation Team will conclude on the afternoon of April 24, 2022.
