Institute of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities strengthens its Board of Directors and announces strategic cooperation agreement

On the morning of November 29, the Institute of Journalism and Communication (IJC) held a ceremony to launch the new leadership of the Institute. On this occasion, the Institute also announced strategic cooperation agreements with a number of partners in the field of journalism and communication.
Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Rector), representatives of the departments in the school; leaders of press and media agencies that are close partners of the Institute; and the entire new Board of Directors, students and trainees of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the school's leadership, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan congratulated the new Director, Dr. Phan Van Kien, the Deputy Directors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Chi Trung, and hoped that the new management staff of the Institute would make efforts to contribute and promote the activities of building and developing the Institute of Information Technology and Communications in particular and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in general to become increasingly stronger.

On behalf of the Institute's management staff, Dr. Phan Van Kien - the new Director of the Institute of Training and Information Technology, thanked the trust and confidence of the School's leaders and all the staff of the Institute. Dr. Phan Van Kien affirmed that this is an honor, pride as well as a great responsibility for the appointed staff, and at the same time pledged to work together with the Deputy Directors and the Institute to strive to excellently complete the assigned tasks and continue to contribute to the development of the Institute and the School.

On behalf of the staff and lecturers of the Institute of Training and Information Technology, the new Board of Directors expressed gratitude to the generations of senior teachers of the Institute to express gratitude and honor the noble contributions of the teaching staff in the cause of building and developing the Institute. The teachers are shining examples, inspiring generations of staff and lecturers of the Institute to continue to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Also at the ceremony, the Institute of Journalism and Communication announced strategic cooperation agreements with agencies and organizations in the field of journalism and communication, including Information and Communication Magazine, Vietnam Television News Department, VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper, T&A - Ogilvy Joint Venture Company Limited and Le & Anh Em Company Limited (Le Bros). The content of the cooperation agreement between the Institute of Journalism and Communication and its partners aims to expand opportunities and promote increasingly developing relationships through encouragement, support and creating better learning, internship and practical conditions for the Institute's students, while strengthening multi-faceted cooperation in training lecturers, training, research, exchange and sharing of professional experience at partner institutions.

In the long-term development plan of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, developing cooperation in training, research and professional exchange activities at domestic and international press and communication agencies is one of the key and strategic tasks. Based on the 32-year tradition of establishment and the strengthened leadership team of the Institute as well as the support of the Institute's staff and cooperation partners, the Institute of Journalism and Communication believes that it will develop further and achieve many results in the coming time, striving to become one of the leading prestigious units in research and training of high-quality human resources in the field of journalism and communication, meeting the high demands of the information society in the context of globalization and digital technology today.
The Institute of Journalism and Communication, together with leading press agencies and media enterprises, have signed a comprehensive, flexible and effective cooperation agreement. Some of the main highlights are:
- Press agencies and media enterprises will send personnel with appropriate capacity to directly participate in professional training activities for students and graduate students majoring in journalism and media. At the same time, create conditions for lecturers to collect practical data for related research, as well as give opinions on training programs and evaluate learners as employers and experts.
- Press agencies and media enterprises give priority to receiving students of the Institute for Training and Internship; accompany, guide and support students and lecturers of the Institute to participate in research activities, media consulting, and content production to ensure information and propaganda orientation and quality requirements so that quality works can be posted on all media platforms.
- During the cooperation process, the Institute of Journalism and Communication will send staff and experts to support in-depth research programs and projects in the field of journalism and communication according to the actual requirements of press agencies and businesses, and support the mobilization of staff, lecturers and students to participate in events, activities, projects and new creative models.
- The Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication, together with press and media agencies, co-chairs the establishment of annual scientific forums with the aim of enhancing research cooperation among mass media agencies, proposing many initiatives and actions for the sustainable development of Vietnamese journalism in the digital age.
- The Institute will coordinate with relevant agencies in developing a project to develop a specialized content page on journalism and media theory, aiming to become a prestigious scientific publication, meeting national and international scientific standards.
