That was the main topic of the Conference of scientific research for young lecturers, postgraduates and research fellows of the USSH, VNU held on June 12th 2015.

The purpose of this conference was to help improve the quality of training and research of young lecturers, postgraduates and research fellows of the University; promote learned experiences and study specialized questions in each major; create professional background and research skills for the learning and researching process (making dissertations); improve training and self-training quality to create high-quality human resources; generate an academic atmosphere among young lecturers, postgraduates and research fellows towards establishing a research university.

The conference attracted 102 papers from young lecturers, postgraduates and research fellows. The papers focus on theoretical, methodological and practical issues in interdisciplinary researches which belong to social sciences and humanities. The papers were not yet published at any other conference and related to the majors of young lecturers, postgraduates and research fellows.

The conference was divided into 3 panels.

The first panel was chaired by Prof. Vu Duong Ninh and Assoc.Prof.Dr Hoang anh Tuan. Its main papers were: Hien city in the system of rivers of Dang Ngoai in the XVII-XVIII centuries: Materials and new awareness; Transformations in the status of Chinese women in the pre-modern families (from historical-legal perspective); Foreign policies of President Barack Obama from a theoretical perspective…

The second panel was chaired by Prof.Dr Tran Ngoc Vuong and Dr. Pham Xuan Thach. Some notable topics included: Addressing e-newspapers via the theory of “public space”; From epistemology to ontology – philosophical inquiries from the movies of Apichatpong (through Sydromes and Uncles Boonmee), etc.

The third panel was chaired by Assoc.Prof.Dr Vu Cao Dam and Dr. Dao Thanh Truong. Some notable topics included: Vietnamese Buddhist entrepreneurs and business motivations; Human resources management in higher education – the developing interdisciplinary approach in Vietnam; The livelihood of immigrants under the perspective of social capital, etc.
