Seminar “Writing and publication on scientific journals”

Participating in the seminar were Assoc.Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector) and various young lecturers from faculties and departments within the university.

In his paper “Skills and methods to write scientific articles”, Assoc.Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh emphasized the activeness of the authors. According to him, young lecturers have to be proactive in participating in conferences. This helped connect individuals with leading scholars in the respective fields. Next, young lecturers have to be audacious and determined in receiving projects from partners, doing joint projects, establishing professional relationships with international scholars, and learning about the ins and outs of the international journals to which they send articles to.

'Publish or perish' was the slogan echoed by Assoc.Prof.Dr Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the Faculty of History) in his paper “Experiences in writing and publishing articles in national and international scientific journals”. This was both their rights and responsibilities.

Along with the above papers, the audience also listened to others such as “Formal procedures in publishing articles in nationally prestigious scientific journals” by M.A Phan Van Kien (Faculty of Journalism and Communication) and “Regulations on the scoring of scientific papers with regard to the acquisition of professor and associate professor statutes and the requirements for employment” by M.A Ngo Kieu Oanh (Vice Director of the Office for Personnel Affairs).
