3.2. Conclusion

Beliefs are a socio-historical phenomenon, a special form of social consciousness, and a part of Vietnamese folk culture. They reflect the illusory nature of social existence and are determined by that existence, possessing relative independence and exhibiting extremely rich and diverse forms of expression. The beliefs of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta region are endogenous, arising from the geographical, natural, economic, social, historical, and cultural factors of Vietnamese society, the foundation of which is the wet-rice agriculture system with the patriarchal peasant family at its center within the closed village environment of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta. Based on their unique cultural and intellectual characteristics, the Vietnamese people, in the process of development, have absorbed many external cultural and ideological values to enrich their own spiritual product, affirming the traditional cultural identity of the nation. The worship of ancestors, tutelary deities, and mother goddesses is a vivid example of the adaptation of foreign ideologies such as Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. This adaptation and adjustment has enabled the worship of ancestors and tutelary deities to become highly adaptable and self-transforming forms of belief, encompassing many traditional cultural and ethical values of the nation, including filial piety. As a result, it easily finds a place in the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people in general, and the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta in particular.

Filial piety is a timeless principle that has existed and developed throughout Vietnamese history. For millennia, the love of parents for their children has never diminished; it has always been abundant, nurturing them to grow into useful members of society. For nations with thousands of years of civilization and long-standing moral traditions like Vietnam, filial piety is even more highly valued and is one of the fundamental principles of the nation. In modern life, what forms the foundation of a region, a people, or a nation is not measured by monetary values but by the traditional cultural values of the nation. Beliefs are an indispensable spiritual activity for people in modern life. Each belief has its own rational philosophical core, containing many profound humanistic values. The tradition of "drinking water and remembering the source," filial piety, national pride, and self-respect in the worship of ancestors and tutelary deities are true values that humanity, as well as our nation, always strive for.

The ancestor worship and tutelary deity worship of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta region contain many values of filial piety. Through the concepts, consciousness, and rituals in the religious life of ancestor worship and tutelary deity worship, filial piety is expressed, thereby contributing to raising awareness of origins, gratitude for the contributions of previous generations, strengthening the spirit of unity, and building a sense of community. Filial piety is therefore closely linked to the love of homeland and country of the Vietnamese people, creating the axis of Family - Village - Nation in the unity and cohesion of village communities and the nation. This is a beautiful manifestation of filial piety in Vietnamese villages in the Northern Delta today. Despite the upheavals and vicissitudes of history, these beautiful manifestations continue to shine, overcoming difficulties and challenges to survive and develop, meeting the spiritual needs of modern society and creating the cultural identity of the nation.

In the current context of development, with the profound changes in Vietnamese society in particular (especially in economics, culture, and society), and the global situation in general, the value of filial piety in the ancestor worship and tutelary deity worship of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta region has not only not been lost but has increasingly affirmed its position in society. The positive aspects of filial piety contribute to further affirming the values of the nation's traditional culture and ethics, helping to guide and perfect the character of each individual and strengthen community bonds. Through religious activities, filial piety and gratitude are instilled in everyone. The value of filial piety in beliefs and religions helps people to become closer, more united, and more connected. However, certain limiting factors also have a certain impact. It distorts and corrupts religious practices, giving rise to superstitious beliefs, ostentation, and wastefulness; moral values, including filial piety, are eroded and lose their inherent beauty, greatly affecting the material and spiritual lives of the people.

Belief is a social-historical phenomenon, a special form of social consciousness and a part of Vietnamese folklore, which reflects the illusion of social existence and is subject to the determination of social existence, having relative independence and greatly diverse forms. The belief of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta is endogenous, born on the basis of geographical, natural, socio-economic, historical and cultural elements of Vietnamese society. Its foundation is the paddy rice farming system with the sub-agrarian patrilineality family as center in an enclosed village environment of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta. Based on its cultural and intellectual characteristics, Vietnamese people, in the process of development, have acquired a number of exogenous cultural values to enrich their own spiritual virtues, confirming the traditional cultural identity of the nation. Worshiping the ancestors, worshiping the tutelary deities and Mother goddess worship is one of the vivid examples of the development of exogenous thoughts such as Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism. This reception and adjustment helped the ancestor worship, worshiping the tutelary deities become forms of belief that have the ability to integrate and self-change largely, containing in it many traditional ethical and cultural values of the nation, including Filial piety. Since then, it is easy to find a place in the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people in general and the Vietnamese people in the North Delta in particular.

Filial piety is a morality that has existed for thousands of generations and has grown throughout the history of Vietnam. For thousands of years now, the love of parents for their children has never run out, yet always been full from time to time to nurture the children to become useful people. For peoples with thousands of years of civilization and long moral traditions like our Vietnamese people, the Filial piety is even more prominent and one of the basic ethics of the nation. In modern life, what constitutes the foundation of a country, a people, a nation is not measured by the monetary value but the traditional cultural values of the nation. Belief is the indispensable spiritual activity of man in modern life. Each of beliefs has its own logical philosophical cores, containing many profound human values. The tradition of "when drinking water, remember the source", filial piety, national pride and self-respect in the worship of ancestors, worshiping the tutelary deities is the dignity that humanity as well as our people always highly respect.

The worship of the ancestors, worshiping the tutelary deities of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta, contains many values of Filial piety. Through the concept, consciousness and rituals in worshiping the ancestors, worshiping the tutelary deities, Filial piety is manifested, thereby contributing to raising awareness towards the source, gratitude for the merits of the predecessor generations, strengthening the spirit of solidarity, building the sense of community. Filial piety, therefore, is closely associated with the love of the homeland and the country of the Vietnamese people, creating the axis of the Home - Village - Country in the unity and attachment of village community and nation. This is a beautiful expression of Filial piety in the Vietnamese village in the North today, despite the ups and downs of history, but those beautiful expressions are still more shining through the difficulties and challenges to survive and develop to meet the spiritual needs of modern society and make up the cultural identity of the nation.

In the current developing situation, with the dramatic change of Vietnamese society in particular (especially in economics, culture and society), the world situation in general, the value of Filial piety in belief of worshiping the ancestors, worshiping the tutelary deities of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta is not only unlost but increasingly asserting its position in society. The positive elements of Filial piety contribute to further affirm the values of the traditional culture and morality of the nation, contributing to orienting and perfecting the personality of each individual and connecting the community. Through religious activities to educate Filial piety and gratitude to all. The value of Filial piety in beliefs and religions helps people to come closer together, to unite and stick together. In addition, limiting factors also have certain effects. It causes religious activities to be deformed and corrupted, leading to superstitious, ostentatious and wasteful phenomena, and depleting moralistic values including Filial piety and its inherent beauty, leaving great impact on the material and spiritual life of the people.
