10. Summary of the thesis results:
"Sao Online" was an entertaining, creative, and highly realistic television program on VTC1, VTC Digital Television. After a long journey and despite changes in format and structure to better suit current trends, "Sao Online" officially ceased broadcasting in August 2014. To this day, VTC Television recognizes "Sao Online" as the most successful entertainment program since the establishment of VTC Digital Television. Few television programs have achieved the same level of success and established the station's reputation in the Vietnamese television market as "Sao Online." "Sao Online" symbolizes the aspirations and exploration of a generation of young reporters and editors, who have affirmed the position of a young television station that is a pioneer in digital technology.
With the research topic "Characteristics of the Online Star Program on VTC Digital Television," this thesis focuses on studying the structural characteristics of the 2013 Online Star program. From this, it identifies the successes and limitations in the program's structure development process, aiming to contribute to improving the quality of modern television programs in Vietnam in general and VTC Digital Television in particular.
Chapter 1 of the thesis focuses on systematizing the theoretical basis of game shows and television talk shows in general. From there, the author clarifies concepts related to the topic such as: "Game Show and Television Talk Show," and "Structure of Game Show and Television Talk Show." In addition, the thesis also addresses other issues in the process of building the structure of a television program, such as: the elements that form the structure and format of the program; types of television game shows; the process and principles of building the structure of a game show and television talk show, including: developing the program concept; developing the program manual, sample script, market research, and the level of competition on television broadcasts.
Chapter 2 of the thesis focuses on analyzing the characteristics of the Sao Online program through two changes in format and structure. Specifically, the author analyzes the format, structure, content, and form of the 2013 Sao Online program. From this, the entire history, circumstances of its creation, format, content, and form of the latest version are thoroughly researched and analyzed. The characteristics and features of the 2013 Sao Online version are specifically identified and analyzed by the author. Simultaneously, the thesis focuses on identifying, analyzing, and evaluating the successes and limitations of the Sao Online program, ultimately determining the reasons for its discontinuation.
Chapter 3 of the thesis focuses on several recommendations and proposals aimed at improving the quality of the structure and format of television programs. Specifically, the thesis examines the development trends of modern television, the development direction of game shows and television talk shows on VTC Digital Television, and proposes solutions to enhance the quality and effectiveness of modern television programs in the future.
For the author of this thesis, this is truly a meaningful research project because it helps to systematize basic knowledge about television and relate it to the practical aspects of program production, where the author is currently working. The author identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the Sao Online program, providing new ideas for building the structure and format of modern television programs in the future. From there, together with colleagues, the author will continue to research, explore, and innovate so that television programs on VTC continue to be well-received and beneficial to a wide audience.
11. Practical applications:
This thesis is the first to study the structural characteristics of the Sao Online program. The results of this study are significant in contributing to the development of the theoretical framework of television and television programs, especially entertainment game shows. It can be considered a valuable reference for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in journalism, media, and television. Furthermore, the results of this thesis will have a positive and useful impact on television program producers in developing program formats and structures, particularly for television programs with purely Vietnamese formats.
12. Future research directions:
If circumstances permit, this thesis could also open up many avenues for further research on issues related to modern television program production, such as: methods for constructing purely Vietnamese television program structures, methods for producing programs in purely Vietnamese formats, etc.

10. The content of summary thesis
Star Online is an entertainment television programs which is creative and realistic game show on VTC1 channel of Vietnam Television Corporation (VTC). Despite having changes of its format and structure to fit with the trend of society, Star Online still stops broadcasting in August 2014. Until now, the program is voted by VTC's staffs as one of the most successful entertainment program since the VTC was born. The program is a symbol for aspirations, explorations of young reporters, editors who have confirmed position of the VTC as an activating television station in terms of digital technology.
With research topic, titled “Structural features of Stars Online program on the digital television VTC", the thesis focuses on researching the structural features of the program Stars Online 2013. Since then, people can find successes and limitations in construction process of structural program to improve the quality of modern television programs and television units in Vietnam in general and the VTC in particular.
In chapter 1, the thesis focuses on codifying theoretical basis of the game program and television in general. Then, the author also concentrates on clarifying concepts related to topics such as: "Game shows on television program", "Structure of game shows". Besides, the thesis also refers to other issues in the process of building structures of game shows such as elements that form the structures and the formats of the program, types of game shows, processes and principles to build structure of game shows on TV, giving ideas of TV program, building handbook of program and sample scripts as well as researching the market and raising level of competition on television and more.
In chapter 2, the thesis focuses on analyzing the characteristics of the Stars Online program through the changes of its formats and structures. The author also concentrates on the characteristics of formats, structures, contents of the Stars Online 2013 program. Since then, history, circumstances of the program birth, the formats, the contents and the forms of the latest version have been studied and analyzed carefully. The characteristics and features of version Star Online 2013 were drawn and analyzed by the author. At the same time, the thesis focuses on finding and evaluating the successes and the limitations of the Stars Online program to define the cause leading programs stop broadcasting.
In chapter 3, the thesis focuses on recommendations and suggestions to enhance quality of structures and formats of TV program. Therefore, it also pays attention to development tendency of modern television, orients development of game shows on TV of VTC in particular in order to improve qualities and effects of modern television program in coming time.
For the author of the thesis, this is really the meaningful research work because it helps the author classify the basic knowledge about television and contact with produce activities, which directly work and operate. The authors found the good points and the problems of the program to have more new ideas for building the structures and formats of modern television programs in the future. Since then, the authors with her colleagues will create more useful on-air television programs on VTC which receive widely welcome of audience.
11. In term of practice
This is the first thesis researching the structural features of Stars Online program. Results of the topic play an important role in contributing to additional part and developing theory system about television and television programs, especially game shows. It can be considered a reference documents for teaching activities for students and postgraduates in journalism, communications and television. The results will have positive impact to manufacture in building and developing the structures and formats of the programs as well as TV program having Vietnamese format.
12. The next research directions:
From the thesis, we can also suggest more research directions about issues related to production of modern television programs such as methods of building the structures of Vietnamese format television program and more.
