Regarding the current state of sex education: Most parents are aware of the importance of sex education for their children. Most parents believe that sex education plays a very important role in helping children avoid sexual abuse, which is happening at an alarming rate. Each parent has a basic understanding of issues related to sex education. Therefore, they are very aware of their role - the family - playing the most important role in sex education for their children. However, in determining the appropriate age to start sex education for their children, most parents believe that "primary school age" and "adolescent age" are the two most appropriate age groups.
The purpose of sex education for parents is to help children learn how to protect themselves from abusive situations. Therefore, parents are increasingly doing a better job of communicating sex education to their children aged 6-10. In this study, talking was the main method chosen by parents to communicate sex education with their children.
Regarding factors affecting parents' sexual education activities with their children: in this study, socio-demographic characteristics did not have much influence on sexual education activities for their children. Meanwhile, communication factors and parents' psychological views are factors that directly affect parents' sexual education process for their children. There are many different difficulties that hinder parents from sexual education for their children aged 6-10.
