The thesis presents China's defense strategy from 2013 to present through analysis and evaluation of China's defense white papers in 2013 and 2015. China's defense strategy changes in each period, depending on China's assessments and comments on the domestic, regional and international situations. Changes in China's defense strategy are reflected through the development of China's armed forces in both theory and practice. The author also assesses the impact of China's defense strategy on the international, regional and Vietnamese contexts; thereby suggesting proposals and recommendations for Vietnam. On that basis, the author makes some predictions about China's defense strategy in the following years.

The strategy has been changed through different time periods, depends on China's opinion on the internal, regional and international situation. The changes were shown by China armed forces' development in both theories and practices. Also, the author estimates the effects of strategy on regional and international situation as well as proposed some suggestions to Vietnam. Finally, the author suggested the strategy's forecasts in the coming years.
