10. Summary of the thesis results:

The study has clarified the reality of social prejudice against people who have recovered from drug addiction, manifested in three aspects: cognitive, emotional, and behavioral. Based on the collected and analyzed information, social prejudice against people who have recovered from drug addiction can be assessed and identified as being at a moderate level. Of the three aspects of social prejudice against people who have recovered from drug addiction, the emotional aspect is the least pronounced, while the behavioral aspect is the most pronounced.

From a cognitive perspective: The prevailing view is that drug addiction is a social ill, with people who have recovered from drug addiction living dependently, recklessly, lacking self-respect and decisiveness, and that they pose a threat to society, making those around them feel unsafe.

Emotionally: The respondents were satisfied with things like politely checking in with people recovering from drug addiction, but did not show genuine intimacy. Concern or trust in those recovering from drug addiction was very low.

Behavioral aspects scored highest. Socially stigmatized behaviors included avoidance, avoidance of contact, refusal to hire, or refusal to partner with people recovering from drug addiction. Behaviors of counseling and encouragement were also very limited.

There are differences in social prejudices across age groups, genders, occupations, educational levels, and interactions with people recovering from drug addiction.

The factor of drug addicts not being properly assessed for their abilities has the greatest impact on maintaining social prejudice against drug addicts today.

Finally, the study provided recommendations to raise awareness and reduce prejudice against people after drug rehabilitation.

11. Practical applications:

The thesis is a useful reference for policy development for people after drug rehabilitation, as well as work to reduce prejudice against people returning from drug rehabilitation, helping them reintegrate into the community.

Research and develop a plan to reduce social stigma and provide support for people recovering from drug addiction in Hanoi.

10. Summary of thesis's results:

The results of thesis show the overall picture of social prejudices against drug rehabilitation from 3 planes: perception, emotion and behavior. By collecting and analyzing information, specialists can evaluate and identify this constant social biases at the medium level on the scale…. Out of the three planes of social prejudices against the following drug rehab, emotions have the least impact while behavior has the largest impact.

In terms of perception: It's a common belief that drug addictions are social evils, that people who have been through drug detox have to rely on the help of others. They are considered to have many flaws such as inaction, lack of self-esteem, lack of assertiveness. They are even called out to be a big threat to society, which makes everyone around them constantly feel a sense of insecurity.

In terms of emotion: The participants are satisfied with things like social inquiry or interaction with drug users but deep in their hearts they still can't come to really trust or care about those drug users, knowing that they were prisoners of drugs.

In terms of behavior: The social prejudice got the highest score, manifested in staying away, refused to meet or to get into work or not in combination with the general business after drug detox. Encouraging or motivating them remains very limited.

There are differences in social stereotypes in age groups, sex, occupation, education, contact with post-detoxified people.

The factor “The post-detoxification are not properly assessed” had greatest impact on maintaining social preconceptions for post-detoxification patients.

Finally, researcher proposed some recommendations like raising awareness and reducing prejudice against people who have been through drug detoxification.

11. Practical application:

The essay serves as a useful reference for policy formulation for the following drug detoxification, as well as being a model work to help the society reduce prejudice against the following drugs, to help drug users re-intergrate to the community.

Studying, building projects to reduce prejudices and support for people with drug addiction later in the city of Hanoi.
