Firstly, the thesis clarifies the objective and subjective factors affecting the Venezuela - Cuba relationship in the period 2004 - 2016.

Second, the thesis analyzes the characteristics of the relationship between the two countries in the fields of politics - diplomacy, economy, defense - security, culture and society.

Third, the thesis not only forecasts the challenges and prospects of the relationship between Venezuela and Cuba, but also assesses the impacts of this relationship on each country as well as on international relations in the Latin American region.
