Summary of the findings of the thesis: Thesis determines the basic characteristics of Phan Boi Chau poetry period 1925 to 1940. Thesis confirms the role of Phan Boi Chau in literary history with the objective view. Phan Boi Chau poetry of this period is one of the orientations for literary modernization. Phan Boi Chau renovated traditional literary genres. But the orientation for literary modernization of Phan Boi Chau failed. The modernization process of Vietnamese literature is the process of reconstructing European literary form, including narration, lyric, drama. When Phan Boi Chau lived in Hue, his writings wasn't read by many people. Predilection for literature of readers had changed but Phan Boi Chau didn't understand. 12.
