Summary of thesis results: Our thesis studies modern Vietnamese short stories through two literary phenomena: Do Chu and Nguyen Huy Thiep. Regarding the innovation of Vietnamese short stories, many people know and are impressed by the short stories of Do Chu and Nguyen Huy Thiep, but systematic research on the works of these writers, as well as a comprehensive overview of the development of Vietnamese short stories during the đổi mới (renovation) period viewed from these two literary phenomena, is still very rare. Scattered speeches and studies in newspapers, magazines, and a few books analyze some aspects of the development of Vietnamese short stories during the đổi mới period, but we believe that this is not enough to affirm the vitality and development of such an important literary genre. Our thesis hopes to continue this unfinished work. 11. Practical applications: used as research material. 12. Future research directions: expanding the study to fully explore the characteristics of the evolution of modern Vietnamese short stories through numerous short stories by various authors. 13.
