In the context of national renewal and international integration, in 1995, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was established based on the separation of Hanoi University. To date, after 30 years of development within the structure of Hanoi National University, inheriting the tradition of the Faculty of Humanities – the elite of Hanoi University – the University has reformed and developed into a leading center for scientific research, innovation, and dissemination of knowledge in social sciences and humanities, training high-quality human resources, providing policy advice, serving the community, contributing practically to the defense of the nation and Vietnam's international integration. Thirty years (1995-2025) is not a long period, but it has been enough experience for the University to reflect on its past training and research journey, draw lessons, prepare to adapt to new opportunities, and aim for new successes in the coming years. To celebrate its 80th anniversary and 30th anniversary, the University is organizing a scientific forum titled "Training and Research in Social Sciences and Humanities in the New Context".
The forum will discuss the achievements, reflect the current state of development of each training discipline, and research and analyze the challenges that the University, its units, and disciplines are facing in the current context. From this, it will provide development directions for the social sciences and humanities in the future, contributing to the cause of education and serving the community, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW and Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
