On October 22, 2025, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi) held the Closing Ceremony and Awarding Ceremony for the 2025 Student Scientific Research Prize – an event aimed at honoring the efforts, creativity, and outstanding achievements of students in scientific research activities.
Vice Rector of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Pham Bao Son attended and spoke at the ceremony.
Also attending were representatives from the leadership of member and affiliated units of VNU Hanoi, and students from these training units who are the authors of 58 outstanding scientific works.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Pham Bao Son, Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, emphasized: “Student scientific research is not just a movement, but a core part of the research university model, contributing to the training of high-quality human resources to meet the national innovation requirements. Students are not only learners but also young researchers – the core force of innovation.”
In 2025, from thousands of projects at the grassroots level, 58 outstanding projects were selected to participate in the VNU-level round, of which the 48 best projects were comprehensively evaluated by the expert council for novelty, scientific merit, and practical applicability.
The topics span a wide range of modern fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, semiconductors, green economy, law, and socio-cultural aspects – reflecting a trend towards multidisciplinary research, international integration, and practical application.
Professor Tran Thi Thanh Tu, Head of the Science and Innovation Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, affirmed that the student scientific research movement is increasingly high-quality, substantive, and widespread, contributing to nurturing a generation of young scientists with a spirit of learning, a desire for creativity, and a will to serve society.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 4 First Prizes, 8 Second Prizes, 12 Third Prizes, 3 Prizes for Application Potential, and 4 Prizes for Outstanding Posters. In addition, the instructors of the winning projects will have their standard teaching hours added to their teaching load according to the current regulations of VNU on calculating and converting standard teaching hours for lecturers, and will be entitled to other benefits according to the unit's regulations.
Students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities won one second prize and two third prizes.
