From October 10-11, 2025, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), the training course "Application of AI in Scientific Research: From Idea to International Journal" attracted a large number of lecturers and researchers from the University.
In his opening remarks at the training course, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, the Rector of the University, affirmed: “Artificial intelligence does not replace researchers, but expands their capabilities. Lecturers, if they know how to intelligently and responsibly utilize AI, will transform technology into a partner – helping scientific thinking become sharper, more systematic, and more effective.”
The Rector emphasized that training faculty members in AI application skills is not just a trend, but a prerequisite for integration into the global academic space – where data, critical thinking, and international publication capabilities become important measures of a research university.
With the spirit of "convergence between scientific thinking and artificial intelligence capabilities," the training course affirms the pioneering role of VNU-USSH in innovating scientific research methods towards modernity and international integration.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized that training lecturers in AI application skills is not just a trend, but a prerequisite for integration into the global academic space.
The program is designed to help faculty and researchers master advanced AI tools, thereby enhancing their critical thinking skills, research design, and international publication capabilities.
The training course was guided and supervised by experienced experts in the field of artificial intelligence research and application, including: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Hung - Head of the Faculty of Information and Library Science, Head of the Organizing Committee; and Dr. Dao Minh Quan - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Information and Library Science.
Dr. Bui Thanh Thuy - Lecturer in the Faculty of Information and Library Science; MSc. Tran Duc Hoa - Lecturer in the Faculty of Information and Library Science; Dr. Nguyen Gia Hy - Research expert in artificial intelligence.
The combination of research experience and in-depth technological understanding from experts has provided the course with a multi-dimensional, innovative academic space that aligns with future research trends, where AI truly becomes a knowledge partner for researchers.

The instructors for the training course are experienced experts in AI research and application.
The training program is divided into four modules: Research design with AI, Literature review with AI, Data analysis, and Writing and international publication.
The training course not only equips participants with skills but also shapes their research mindset for the new era – where instructors are not just tool users but also responsible and critical creators of knowledge with AI. The combination of traditional academic competence and artificial intelligence tools is considered the foundation of "digital research competence," a core quality of university instructors in the AI age.
Upon completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion and join the university's "AI in Research" community network – an open learning space for sharing tools, experiences, and initiatives in applying AI in social sciences and humanities research.
With the implementation of this training course, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, affirms its determination to make artificial intelligence a fundamental competency in academic research and publishing. The course goes beyond simply "teaching how to use the tools," aiming to build a new research culture where AI becomes a companion, contributing to bringing Vietnamese knowledge to the world.
