Attending the opening ceremony were members of the tournament organizing committee: Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh - Deputy Director of the Center for Physical Education and Sports, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy - Member of the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of VNU Hanoi, and leaders of member and affiliated units of VNU Hanoi representing the 14 participating teams.
At the opening ceremony, player Dao Tuan Anh (from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) represented over 200 athletes and took an oath pledging determination, honesty, and dedication to the competition.

The 2023 Men's Staff Football Tournament was held within the framework of the 2nd Sports Festival for Staff and Students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). The Sports Festival is an activity leading up to the 30th anniversary of the Government's Decree on VNU (December 10, 1993 - December 10, 2023), while also encouraging physical training, fostering exchange and learning, and strengthening bonds among individuals and units throughout VNU. This is also a vibrant activity to celebrate the successful congresses of VNU's trade unions at all levels, aiming to unleash the potential of sports and physical activity among a large number of staff and students, encouraging regular exercise to improve health, support learning and work, and contribute to the strong development of VNU.
The men's football team of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities is participating in this year's tournament along with 13 other teams. The teams are divided into 4 groups A, B, C, and D, with groups A and B each containing 3 teams. Group B includes: the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, the International School, and the University of Education. The group stage matches for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities will take place on Saturday, October 14th and 28th, against the International School and the University of Education, respectively.
The tournament will take place every Saturday, from October 14th to November 18th, 2023, at the Hanoi National University Sports Complex football field (2 Pham Van Dong Street). The final match and awards ceremony in 2023 will be held at the National Defense and Security Education Center football field (Hoa Lac).
