Artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the most important technological trends shaping the world in 2024, representing the most significant technological innovation of the new era. AI in general, and machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI in particular, are creating systems that can learn, adapt, and operate autonomously. AI applications have become widespread in all areas of social life, and education is no exception.
John Roese, Global Chief Technology Officer of Dell Technologies, stated that generative AI sparked innovative ideas about how it works and will transform the world in 2023. Moving into 2024, we will see a wave of generative AI projects reaching maturity, revealing important and useful aspects that were not fully understood in the early stages.
Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence technology capable of generating various types of content, including text, images, audio, and synthesized data. In the current context, understanding what Generative AI is and how it is applied in specific fields is a pressing requirement and a key to exploring new opportunities and challenges.
For many years, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) has been a pioneer in applying information technology to innovate teaching methods and improve the quality of education. The university is also the sole partner of Meta Group in implementing projects to enhance digital skills and AI application capabilities in teaching and learning for its faculty and students. In 2023, VNU-USSH was also the first institution in Vietnam to officially issue a Digital Competency Framework for students, which has been referenced and incorporated into the curricula of over 150 universities in Vietnam.
Technology is constantly changing, requiring each individual to adapt and apply it flexibly in practice to improve the efficiency and quality of their work. To support its faculty, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is organizing a course on the theme "Breakthroughs with GEN AI in Teaching and Research," exclusively for faculty and staff of VNU-USSH.
The course will be held from December 30, 2024 to March 15, 2025.
The training is divided into 3 classes specifically for VNU-USSH staff, each class lasting 9 sessions and limited to 30 participants.
The course will be led by experts in digital skills and artificial intelligence from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and partners: Meta Corporation, SkillPixel.
Course content: AI genes and applications in higher education; Learning, creating, and teaching with AI; Building digital lectures with AI; Scientific research and international publications with AI; Using AI ethically and responsibly; AI working with students and classroom management.
At this course, lecturers, whether already proficient in installing and using AI applications in teaching and research, or those who are new to AI tools and use them for entertainment or daily life needs, will find useful information and skills to create breakthroughs in their teaching and research.
Registration for these classes will close on December 20, 2024. Therefore, please register now to avoid missing the opportunity to master one of the most important and cutting-edge technological achievements of the digital age.
To develop suitable courses that best meet the needs and desires of teachers regarding the application of generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) in teaching and research, we would greatly appreciate your feedback through the attached questionnaire.
