Congratulations to the 18 outstanding VNU-USSH students who received the AEON 1% scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded annually to support students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) in their studies, scientific research, and international exchange.
This morning, November 27, 2024, 54 scholarships worth $800 each were awarded by the AEON 1% Club Foundation to students from three universities in the North, including: the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; the Foreign Trade University; and the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture.
Eighteen VNU-USSH students were awarded the AEON 1% scholarship. These are third and fourth-year students with excellent/good academic results, outstanding achievements in participating in Youth Union and Student Association activities, and volunteer work serving the community; actively involved in academic exchanges both domestically and internationally, especially in promoting academic and cultural exchange between students of Vietnam and Japan.
Ambassador Ito Naoki of Japan to Vietnam expressed his hope that the students would continue to be a bridge, contributing to fostering the friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
Ms. Sasaki Mariko, Secretary General of the AEON 1% Club, congratulated the students who had excellently received scholarships from the Fund and hoped that they would continue to strive to achieve their dreams.
Over the past 18 years, the AEON 1% Club Foundation has provided scholarship support to students in 7 Asian countries (Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Japan, China, and Cambodia) to assist them in their studies, scientific research, and international exchange.
Sharing at the scholarship award ceremony, Nguyen Thi Thuy Thanh, a third-year student in the International Studies Department at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said: “My biggest aspiration is to become a lecturer in the International Studies Department. For me, this is not only a career goal but also a meaningful journey to explore the world, contribute to the field of education, and share positive values ​​with the community. This passion is driven by a desire to gain a deeper understanding of countries and people through political, economic, and cultural aspects – important factors in today's globalized context.”
Nguyen Thi Thuy Thanh, a third-year student in the International Studies department at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, expressed her gratitude for the support of the university and the AEON 1% Club Fund on her academic journey.
The third-year International Studies student also shared that, in pursuing this dream, she has always paid special attention to the Vietnam-Japan relationship, a strong friendship that has been nurtured throughout history. Japan is not only an important partner of Vietnam but also a role model of discipline, responsibility, and creativity that Thuy Thanh greatly admires. “If given the opportunity to become a lecturer in International Studies, I hope not only to impart theoretical knowledge but also to inspire future generations of students to explore and contribute to promoting deep and sustainable cooperation between the two countries.” And the AEON scholarship is not only a source of financial support but also a great source of encouragement, motivating Thuy Thanh and other students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to strive even harder to realize their dreams.

In addition to scholarships for academic achievement and scholarships for students in basic science fields, VNU-USSH students also receive scholarships from non-governmental organizations (Asia Development Foundation, Toshiba Scholarship Fund - Japan, Friedrich Naumann Foundation - Germany, etc.); and scholarships from domestic and international businesses (BIDV, Vietcombank, Samsung, Aeaon, Dao Minh Quang Foundation, Dinh Thien Ly Foundation, Phan Huu Giat Foundation, Danko, Lotte, KT, PonyChung, Posco, Vingroup, etc.). This will be a source of financial support, a partnership between the university and society to help students progress on their academic and personal development paths.
