This was the message that the leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) sent to students at the 2024 Dialogue between University Leaders and Students program, held on December 26, 2024.
The program was attended by representatives from the Board of Directors, leaders of Faculties/Institutes/Departments, functional offices, the Youth Union, and the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; representatives from the National Defense Education Center, the Physical Education and Sports Center of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Me Tri Dormitory, and Vietnam National University Hospital.
In her opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, stated that the university has made many innovations in supporting and interacting with students. Dialogue forums between the university and students are not only held during the annual dialogue program but are also implemented weekly through information exchange activities between the Training Department, the Political and Student Affairs Department, helping to make timely adjustments to student training and care to support them in their studies at the university.
"Teachers always want to listen to students' voices in order to find the best ways and solutions to support them," Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized.

The university received nearly 90 questions from online channels and many more from students and trainees during the dialogue session. Many issues directly related to the learning and research activities of students in various majors and training programs, such as: policies on exemption from the national defense and security education course for certain student groups, the organization of physical education courses at Hoa Lac; issues related to tuition fees, recognition of foreign language credits, dual degree programs, transferring majors within the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, graduation requirements, student scientific research, and international student exchange…
Pham The Anh, a student from the K69 cohort majoring in Linguistics, asked a question regarding the use of facilities for students.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy, Head of the General Administration Department, answered students' questions about the facilities for learning and teaching at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy, Head of the General Administration Department, the school's facilities at 336 Nguyen Trai currently ensure sufficient classrooms for all students. The school annually supplements and replaces learning equipment to create the best possible learning environment for students. The General Administration Department receives reports of equipment malfunctions and provides replacements promptly to the lecture halls. With an area of ​​1.46 hectares, the school dedicates most of its space to lecture halls and common facilities for students and faculty.
Lecturer Nguyen Van Thuy urged students and lecturers to use electricity sparingly, remember to turn off electrical devices after class, and take care of equipment to build a safe, green, clean, and beautiful learning environment.

Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu - Deputy Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs, shared that the school offers various forms of scholarships for students, including scholarships from the state budget and scholarships from benefactors, organizations, and businesses both domestically and internationally.
There are diverse and valuable scholarships available outside of the state budget, ranging from 2.5 million to 25 million VND per student, including the IMG scholarship worth up to 150 million VND per scholarship. The university regularly posts information for all students on its official channels such as the website, Facebook, and through academic advisors in each training unit.
The university regularly organizes Job Fairs with workshops to support students in equipping themselves with personal skills, providing advice from experts and reputable employers, and connecting students with thousands of job opportunities from domestic and international agencies, organizations, and businesses. In addition, the university collaborates with partners to build a job portal, continuously updated with job information for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Furthermore, internship and practical training opportunities for students are widely available not only at domestic businesses and universities but also abroad. In 2023, the university supported over 100 students in overseas internships.
The evaluation of student conduct and health insurance benefits for students are handled transparently, quickly, and promptly. Answering a question about supporting students during graduation ceremonies, Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu stated that the university provides completely free assistance to students in borrowing graduation gowns and taking commemorative photos to preserve beautiful moments of the new bachelors, masters, and doctoral graduates.

Lieutenant Colonel, MSc. Ngo Van Tang - representative of the Center for National Defense and Security Education, VNU-USSH, answered questions regarding the national defense and security credit program for VNU-USSH students.
 Ms. Kim Thi Diep Ha, Head of Planning and Finance Department, shared information with students regarding tuition fees.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, stated that students have numerous opportunities for internships and practical experience abroad, as well as broad job prospects.
During the dialogue session, school representatives stated that the rate of early graduation increased by 40%, the rate of disciplinary violations decreased by a quarter compared to the same period in 2023; and the rate of students pursuing a second degree doubled… These are encouraging figures for the school over the past year, demonstrating that the care, support, and companionship provided to students have yielded positive results and values.
The university strengthens its connections and cooperation with many universities in the country, the region, and in many advanced countries to provide opportunities for credit exchange for students. With most of the university's training programs having completed quality accreditation domestically and internationally, students in all majors who achieve a GPA of "Good" or higher will be able to continue their studies at the master's level at VNU-USSH.
With the motto of providing the best values ​​to students, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always accompanies and shares with students, working together to build a dynamic, creative, and humane environment at VNU-USSH. The university maintains a forum for direct exchange with students via online channels every two weeks.
