Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Nam emphasized: Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has cooperative relations with about 300 educational institutions, universities, and research institutes around the world. Among them, Chinese partners play an important role. VNU-USSH signed a memorandum of understanding and effectively implemented many cooperative activities with leading universities in China, especially in the fields of lecturer and student exchanges; coordinating the organization of seminars and research projects; collecting documents and translation; publishing. Therefore, we warmly welcome scientists and experts from Nanjing University to visit the University and discuss specific cooperation opportunities.
Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam gave an overview of the strengths of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and opportunities for cooperation.
Professor Wang Jian proposed directions for collaborative research on archaeology and heritage between experts from the Department of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Academy of History and Cultural Heritage in the future, while affirming his desire to expand cooperation between the two universities in many other fields. He further shared: The Nanjing Institute of History and Cultural Heritage is one of the few universities allowed to conduct archaeological excavations in China and has a prestigious specialized journal in the field of archaeology. “Therefore, we very much hope that experts and researchers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will participate in collaborative excavation projects and submit their new research works and articles for publication,” Professor Wang Jian emphasized.

Agreeing with and highly appreciating the aforementioned cooperation ideas, Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam affirmed: “At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the fields of History and Archaeology play a crucial role, always receiving investment and development from the University, and are considered one of the University's unique characteristics. With a long tradition and achievements in training and research, the Faculty of History is proud to be home to leading experts in History, Archaeology, and Cultural Heritage in Vietnam. With these strengths, I am confident that the two sides will have successful collaborations.”
At the end of the working session, representatives from both sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which will serve as the legal basis for specific future collaborations, with the following key contents:
- Exchange of faculty and researchers,
- Conduct joint research and apply for joint scientific funding.
- Jointly organize conferences, seminars, or other academic events.
- Exchange of academic information and publications,
- Cooperation in the field of Archaeology: surveying, exploration, excavation, comparison, research and publication of archaeological findings.
- Collaboration in the field of Museology: collecting museum data, cross-referencing, research, and publication.
Through this document, the Academy of History and Cultural Heritage, Nanjing Normal University, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, affirm their shared commitment to promoting international cooperation, sharing educational and cultural resources in higher education and academic research, and actively contributing to proposing solutions to problems in each country and the entire region.
