Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Nam emphasized: Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has cooperative relations with about 300 educational institutions, universities, and research institutes around the world. Among them, Chinese partners play an important role. VNU-USSH signed a memorandum of understanding and effectively implemented many cooperative activities with leading universities in China, especially in the fields of lecturer and student exchanges; coordinating the organization of seminars and research projects; collecting documents and translation; publishing. Therefore, we warmly welcome scientists and experts from Nanjing University to visit the University and discuss specific cooperation opportunities.
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam gave an overview of the strengths of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and cooperation opportunities.
Professor Vuong Kien proposed directions for coordinating research on archaeology and heritage between experts from the Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Academy of History and Cultural Heritage in the coming time, and affirmed the desire to expand cooperation between the two schools in many other fields. He added: The Nanjing Institute of History and Cultural Heritage is one of the few universities that is allowed to organize archaeological excavations in China and has a prestigious specialized journal in the field of Archaeology. "Therefore, we really hope that experts and researchers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will participate in coordinating excavation projects as well as submitting their new research works and articles for publication" - Professor Vuong Kien emphasized.

Agreeing with and appreciating the above cooperation ideas, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam affirmed: “At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Department of History and Archaeology plays a very important role, always invested in and developed by the University and considered as one of the school's identities. With a long tradition and achievements in training and research, the Faculty of History is proud to be the place that gathers leading experts in History, Archaeology, and Cultural Heritage in Vietnam. With these strengths, I firmly believe that the two sides will have successful cooperation.”
At the end of the working session, the leaders of the two sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as a legal basis for specific cooperation in the coming time, with the following key contents:
- Exchange of lecturers and researchers,
- Joint research and joint applications for scientific funding,
- Jointly organize conferences, seminars or other academic events,
- Exchange of information and academic publications,
- Cooperation in the field of Archaeology: survey, exploration, excavation, comparison, research and publication of archaeology,
- Cooperation in the field of Museology: collection of museum data, comparison, research and publication.
Through this document, the Academy of History and Cultural Heritage, Nanjing Normal University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi affirm their common commitment to promoting international cooperation, sharing educational and cultural resources in higher education, in academic research and actively contributing to proposing solutions to solve problems of each country and the whole region.
