Faculty and students from VNU-USSH attended the meeting between Vietnamese and Chinese international students.

On March 20th, three lecturers and 60 Chinese students studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) participated in a meeting and exchange between Vietnamese and Chinese students from different periods, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

A special occasion to reminisce about old times.

Approximately 800 delegates from Vietnam and China The event was attended by generations of students who had directly witnessed the development of relations between the two countries over the years. In addition, representatives of the younger generations of Vietnam and China also participated.
In a moving atmosphere, veteran leaders, Chinese friendship figures, and students from both countries reminisced about profound memories and fond feelings from their time studying and working in each other's countries. The delegates also expressed confidence that the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries will continue to develop positively in the future.
Speaking at the meeting, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei affirmed that the relationship between the two countries in recent years, especially in recent years, has witnessed historic reciprocal visits by the highest leaders of the two Parties and two countries.
He believes and hopes that the younger generation of both countries will continue to play a core role in developing the Vietnam-China relationship well, so that the "young tree of friendship" between China and Vietnam will become a flourishing "forest of friendship" between China and Vietnam.

In his subsequent remarks, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the significance of the meeting, stating that it was a special occasion to convey a message about the role and determination of students from both countries throughout history in developing bilateral relations.
Recalling the solid foundation of bilateral relations painstakingly built by generations of leaders of both countries, the General Secretary affirmed that throughout the revolutionary journey of each side, the two countries have always given each other great and sincere assistance and support.
The General Secretary affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State consistently attach great importance to and give top priority to Vietnam-China relations. Vietnam is determined to work with the Chinese Party and State to develop relations for the happiness of the people of both countries, and for the cause of peace and progress of humanity.
On this occasion, he also expressed his gratitude for China's acceptance and provision of the best conditions for Vietnamese officials, students, and scholars to study and conduct research. Thanks to this, many generations of Vietnamese intellectuals have matured and made important contributions to the Vietnamese revolutionary cause and the Vietnam-China friendship.

Assessing that the youth of both countries are effectively fulfilling their role as "young cultural ambassadors," General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the leaders of the two Parties and two countries pay special attention to and expect the younger generation of both countries to inherit the tradition of Vietnam-China friendship, bringing vibrant energy and a bright future to bilateral relations.
He affirmed that reality has shown that the affection between the people of the two countries is initiated and sustained by the younger generation. The younger generation of both countries is the core force in developing Vietnam-China relations in a positive, effective, and sustainable manner.
General Secretary To Lam also offered some suggestions for the youth and younger generations of both countries. These included the need to strive to study and train to master science and technology, thereby making practical and creative contributions and helping to strengthen the material foundation of bilateral relations.

The General Secretary also urged Vietnamese students to take advantage of the valuable opportunities to study and research in China in order to absorb the essence of Chinese civilization and the achievements and experiences in socio-economic development and advanced science and technology of their host country.
Regarding the younger generation of Chinese, he welcomed the increasing number of young Chinese people coming to Vietnam to study, learn about the Vietnamese language and culture, and seek investment, business, and development opportunities.
On this occasion, he suggested that youth organizations and student associations of both countries should strengthen practical youth exchange and cooperation programs in 2025, as this year has been designated as the "Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange Year".

Lecturers and students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities participated in the Vietnam-China student exchange event on March 20, 2025.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, has long-standing and close cooperative relationships with dozens of prestigious universities, research institutes, and educational organizations in China: Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Tsinghua University, Guangxi University for Nationalities, Guangxi Normal University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Normal University, Yunnan University, Hainan University, etc.
Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities welcomes nearly 300 Chinese students to study Vietnamese language and research Vietnamese history and culture in the departments of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, Linguistics, History, Oriental Studies, International Studies, etc. In addition, every year the University of Social Sciences and Humanities sends dozens of students to participate in courses at leading universities in China with recognized credits, and many lecturers in various disciplines regularly participate in scientific research activities, academic exchanges, and short-term professional development courses at universities and research institutes in China.
