During the meeting, representatives from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and MGIMO University discussed possibilities for cooperation in the exchange of students, lecturers, and scientists between the two universities.
Recently, several lecturers from VNU-USSH have participated in teaching at MGIMO as visiting lecturers. The Moscow State University of International Relations has also annually sent students to study at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Representatives from VNU-USSH and MGIMO discussed and agreed on several areas of cooperation between the two universities.
Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam - Vice Chairman of the University Council, Head of the Training Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasized that with the strengths in training and scientific research of both sides, the potential for expanding cooperation in credit exchange for students of the two universities; academic exchange through organizing seminars and workshops; cooperation in postgraduate training programs and short-term programs is very high.
Agreeing with the above discussions, Dr. Valeria Vershinina - Deputy Director of the ASEAN Center, MGIMO University, also shared that MGIMO University will prioritize allocating a number of scholarships for students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to study at this university.
Previously, in April 2024, during a working trip to attend the 2nd Vietnam-Russia University Presidents' Forum in the Russian Federation, the delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Moscow State University of International Relations in research, training, academic exchange, and Vietnamese language teaching.
The Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, represented the university in signing a memorandum of cooperation with MGIMO University in April 2024.
Moscow State University of International Relations(MGIMO) is under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and is also a center for postgraduate research and training.
MGIMO plays a core role in the Russian higher education system and trains personnel for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Many former students have become renowned scientists, entrepreneurs, and politicians.
MGIMO ranks 345th in the QS International rankings and 37th in the QS subject ranking for "Political Science," placing it among the top 200 universities worldwide in the categories of "Modern Languages," "Law," and "Linguistics," and within the top 300 in subject categories such as "History," "Economics and Econometrics," "Social Sciences and Management," and "Humanities."
In the national RAEX ranking of the influence of Russian universities, MGIMO ranks third among the leading institutions in shaping the Russian elite and power among young people.
