At the meeting, representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and MGIMO University discussed cooperation possibilities in exchanging students, lecturers and scientists between the two universities.
Recently, a number of lecturers from VNU-USSH have participated in teaching at MGIMO as guest lecturers. Moscow State University of International Relations has also annually sent students to study at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Representatives of VNU-USSH and MGIMO discussed and agreed on a number of cooperation contents between the two schools.
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Vice Chairman of the University Council, Head of Training Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities emphasized that with the strengths in training and scientific research of both sides, the possibility of expanding cooperation in credit exchange for students of the two universities; academic exchange through organizing seminars and workshops; cooperation in training of postgraduate programs and short-term programs is very large.
Agreeing with the above discussions, Dr. Valeria Vershinina - Deputy Director of ASEAN Center, MGIMO University also shared that MGIMO University will give priority to a number of scholarships for students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to study at this university.
Previously, in April 2024, within the framework of the working trip to attend the 2nd Vietnam - Russia University Rectors' Forum in the Russian Federation, the delegation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the Moscow State University of International Relations in research, training, academic exchange, and teaching Vietnamese.
Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, representing the school, signed a memorandum of understanding with MGIMO University in April 2024.
Moscow State University of International Relations(MGIMO) is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and is also a center for postgraduate research and training.
MGIMO plays a key role in the Russian higher education system and trains officials for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Many of its alumni have become prominent scientists, entrepreneurs and politicians.
MGIMO is ranked 345th in the QS World University Rankings and 37th in the QS Subject Rankings by Subject “Political Sciences”, among the top 200 universities in the world in the categories “Modern Languages”, “Law” and “Linguistics”, and in the top 300 in the subject categories “History”, “Economics and Econometrics”, “Social Sciences and Management”, “Humanities”.
In the RAEX national ranking of the influence of Russian universities, MGIMO ranks third among the leading universities in the formation of the Russian elite and power among young people.
