University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

From 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM on March 22, 2013, the "Samsung Job Fair 2013" will take place in Hall 10-12, Administration Building, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 144 Xuan Thuy Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.

This morning, March 15, 2013, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi organized a meeting for all union officials throughout the university to provide feedback on the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution. Many practical suggestions were expressed at the meeting, and some opinions were submitted in writing, demonstrating the concern of the university's trade union officials for this important political task.

On March 14, 2013, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a working session with the leaders of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) to discuss the University's operational situation and future development directions. The meeting was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Xuan Nha (Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Director of VNU) and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities).

On March 14, 2013, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, organized a seminar entitled: “The Development of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) in the Context of the Global Economic Crisis - Perspectives of the EU and ASEAN”.

To strengthen and expand cooperation in training and scientific research with Taiwanese universities, and at the invitation of National Chengchi University, National Chengchi University of Education, and Tung Hwa University, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector) visited and exchanged cooperation with universities in Taiwan from February 26th to March 2nd, 2013. Accompanying her were Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thien Nam (Head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies), Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Chinh (Deputy Head of the Department of Linguistics), Dr. Nghiem Thuy Hang (Head of the Department of Chinese Studies), and Dr. Tran Thuy Anh (Deputy Head of the International Cooperation and Training Department).

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Japan-Vietnam friendship in 2013, the Japan Foundation - Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, organized a presentation entitled "Japan's New International Relations".

“We are focusing all resources on improving the quality of training, prioritizing quality as the primary factor to affirm the brand and prestige of the University. In addition, the University is also striving to diversify training programs, open many new majors, and make many innovations in admissions to better meet the needs of society…” - Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, shared some opinions on various issues related to the University's admissions and training.

In accordance with the 2012-2013 academic year activity plan, and on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8th, the School's Trade Union Executive Committee, in coordination with the Committee for the Advancement of Women, organized a field trip for female staff, faculty, and trade union officials to visit several historical and cultural sites in Hai Duong province.

In accordance with Official Letter No. 661/VNU-KHCN regarding the proposal of State-level science and technology tasks for 2014, the Research Management Department requests that staff with proposals submit their Proposal Forms to the Department before March 19, 2013 for compilation.

Professor Ralph Michael Wrobel (University of West Saxon, Germany) gave a presentation on the topic: “The Social Market Economy Model and the Role of the State – International Experience and Application to Vietnam” at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on March 7, 2013.

From February 28th to April 25th, 2013, CASA organized a training course on English listening and speaking skills, presented by Dr. Paul Adams, a visiting lecturer at the Department of Linguistics.

Professor Takehiko Yoshimura – Director of the Institute of Ancient Studies, former Dean of the Graduate School, Meiji University (Japan) – led a delegation of faculty and staff from Meiji University to visit and discuss cooperation opportunities with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on March 8, 2013. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim – Vice Rector of the University, along with representatives from the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Faculty of Political Science, received and worked with the delegation.
