This morning, March 15, 2013, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU organized a meeting for all Trade Union officials in the entire University to give their opinions on the Draft Amendment to the 1992 Constitution. Many practical opinions were expressed at the conference and some opinions were sent in writing, showing the concern of the University's Trade Union officials for this important political task.

On March 14, 2013, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had a meeting with the leaders of VNU about the school's activities and development orientations in the coming time. The meeting was chaired by Associate Professor, Dr. Phung Xuan Nha (Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, President of VNU) and Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities).

On March 14, 2013, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation organized a workshop: “The development of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) in the context of the global economic crisis - the perspectives of the EU and ASEAN”.

In order to strengthen and expand cooperation in training and scientific research with Taiwanese universities and at the invitation of the University of Politics, the University of Education and Dong Hwa University, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Principal) visited and discussed cooperation with universities in Taiwan from February 26 to March 2, 2013. Accompanying her were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thien Nam (Head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies), Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Chinh (Deputy Head of the Department of Linguistics), Dr. Nghiem Thuy Hang (Head of the Department of Chinese Studies) and Dr. Tran Thuy Anh (Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Development).

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Japan-Vietnam friendship in 2013, the Japan Foundation - Japan Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi organized a presentation entitled "Japan's New International Relations".

“Focus all resources on improving training quality, taking quality as the top factor to affirm the brand and reputation of the School. In addition, the School also strives to diversify training programs, open many new majors, and innovate in enrollment to better meet social needs…” - Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities shared some opinions on many issues related to the school's enrollment and training.

Implementing the 2012-2013 school year's action plan, on the occasion of International Women's Day March 8, the School's Trade Union Executive Committee in coordination with the Women's Advancement Committee organized a field trip for female staff, civil servants and trade union officials to visit some historical and cultural sites in Hai Duong province.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 661/VNU-KHCN on proposing State-level science and technology tasks in 2014, the Department of Scientific Research Management requests that staff with proposals please send the Proposal Form to the Department before March 19, 2013 for synthesis.

Prof. Dr. Ralph Michael Wrobel (West Saxon University, Germany) gave a presentation on the topic: “Social market economy model and the role of the state – International experience and application to Vietnam” at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on March 7, 2013.

From February 28 to April 25, 2013, CASA organized a training course on English Listening and Speaking Skills presented by Dr. Paul Adams - a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Linguistics.

Prof. Takehiko YoShiMura - Director of the Institute of Ancient Studies, former Principal of the Graduate School, Meiji University (Japan) led a delegation of staff and lecturers from Meiji University to visit and discuss cooperation opportunities with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on March 8, 2013. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Principal of the University and representatives of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Political Science received and worked with the delegation.
