Continuing the tradition of the former Hanoi University, the female staff of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is increasingly developing and making significant contributions to all aspects of the University's activities. The percentage of female staff holding leadership positions is also increasing. In addition, the University has many policies and initiatives to support female staff in their lives, while creating an open environment for them to develop their abilities. At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the number of female staff in leadership and management positions is steadily increasing and accounts for a significant proportion (40% of leadership positions at all levels). These women are shouldering heavy responsibilities and contributing their efforts and dedication to various aspects of the University's activities. On March 2nd, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with the University of Natural Sciences, solemnly organized a meeting of former leaders of Hanoi University from various periods. At the meeting, the professors and teachers reminisced about the valuable traditions of Hanoi University, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The need for a more accurate understanding of the role of Vietnamese social sciences and humanities was the central theme of many opinions expressed by professors and scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities at a meeting with the Minister of Education and Training, Pham Vu Luan, on February 27, 2013. The direct and frank exchange between the Minister and the educators covered a wide range of issues: educational reform, policies for teachers; decentralization of higher education management, and solutions for building and developing the social sciences and humanities sector in the current context…

In accordance with the Official Letter from the Committee for Amendment of the 1992 Constitution and the Official Letter from the Director of Hanoi National University regarding the organization of public consultations on the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution, the University requests that heads of units continue to organize feedback on the draft through their units, social organizations (Trade Union, Youth Union, Student Association), or individuals.

Professor Ralph Michael Wrobel (West Saxon University of Applied Sciences of Zwickau, Germany) gave a presentation on the topic "Social Market economy models and roles of the state – international experiences and implications for Vietnam".
