University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

Based on the results of the first consultative meeting of the Hanoi City Fatherland Front Committee held on February 24, 2011, and document No. 43/CV-HĐND dated March 1, 2011, from the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City People's Council regarding the approval of the proposed nomination of candidates for the Hanoi City People's Council for the 2011-2016 term, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is nominated to run for the City-level People's Council for the next term.

This coming Wednesday morning (March 23, 2011), at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), more than 500 Vietnamese and international students will participate in the program "Sharing with Our Japanese Friends" about the losses from the recent earthquake.

On March 2nd, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a meeting with the National Assembly's survey team to gather feedback on the second draft of the Law on Higher Education.

On the morning of February 8, 2011, Professor Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - along with leaders of functional departments of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, visited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to congratulate them on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit 2011.

On January 22, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a gathering for retired staff to celebrate the beginning of the year and welcome the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit 2011.

On the evening of January 5, 2011, the Center for Research and Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Regions (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) collaborated with the Bac Giang Provincial Youth Union to honor 80 outstanding ethnic minority youth, students, and university students of 2010.

On January 4, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the Nguyen Truong To Scholarship Award Ceremony – a scholarship program sponsored by the VNHelp California Charitable Foundation and implemented in collaboration with the Vietnam Education Promotion Fund.

On the afternoon of December 31, 2011, representatives from the school's leadership, the Student Affairs Department, the Youth Union, and the Student Association visited and extended New Year greetings to the students currently residing in the Me Tri dormitory.

Professor Tran Van Giau studied in France from 1928 and joined the French Communist Party in May 1929. From 1931-1932, he studied at the Moscow University of the Orient before returning to Vietnam to participate in revolutionary activities within the Southern Regional Party Committee.

This morning, December 15, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held an awards ceremony to honor "Outstanding Young People of 2010," including 96 students, 4 doctoral candidates, and 19 young staff members.

With a total score of 87, the girls from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities excellently won first place in the first Aerobic Competition for Students of Hanoi National University, on the evening of December 14, 2010.

This morning, December 3rd, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a scholarship awarding ceremony for the "Golf Tournament for Students Overcoming Difficulties and Excelling in Studies - 2010" - a scholarship program jointly implemented by the Vietnam Education Promotion Fund and the Investment Newspaper.

Recently, President Nguyen Minh Triet signed Decision No. 1995/QD-CTN awarding the Third-Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee Office and the Offices of the Youth Union, the Political and Student Affairs Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for their outstanding achievements in education and training from the 2005-2006 academic year to the 2009-2010 academic year.

Over 70 general questions and dozens of direct questions from students were discussed and answered at the dialogue session between students and school leaders last night, November 30, 2010.
