International experience in social work and social security

The international scientific conference with the theme “Sharing International Experiences on Social Work and Social Security” was jointly organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Vietnam Vocational Training Association and domestic and foreign social agencies and organizations: the United Nations Children's Fund, the Vietnam Association for the Assistance of the Disabled, the Canadian International Development Agency through Memorial University... and took place on November 9 and 10, 2012.
The international scientific conference with the theme “Sharing International Experiences on Social Work and Social Security” was jointly organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Vietnam Vocational Training Association and domestic and foreign social agencies and organizations: the United Nations Children's Fund, the Vietnam Association for the Assistance of the Disabled, the Canadian International Development Agency through Memorial University... and took place on November 9 and 10, 2012.Attending the workshop were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang - former Minister of Labor and War Invalids, President of Vietnam Vocational Training Association; Prof. Dr. Pham Tat Dong - Vice President and General Secretary of Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu - Vice Principal of the School, along with scientists, lecturers from universities, practitioners from training institutions, practice facilities, management agencies, social - professional organizations and international organizations... The workshop focused on discussing key issues related to social work and social security such as: models, general theories and issues of social work training in Vietnam; international experience in building and developing the social work profession; social policies and social security; issues of people with disabilities and the elderly; issues of women and children. In particular, many opinions at the conference discussed specific issues of Social Work in healthcare, with mental patients, with people with disabilities, etc. In addition, with theories and practical experiences, many opinions have proposed effective and practical solutions to promote the development of Social Work and Social Security in Vietnam today. This conference clearly demonstrated the common concern and determination of agencies and organizations: University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam Vocational Training Association always strive to find many solutions to build the Social Work industry to soon approach the professional level of countries in Asia and the world.
